Inside Our Feed Room | FABBY

One supplement you’ll often find in our feed room is FABBY by Kohnke's Own.

While we don’t use it for every horse, it’s something we regularly turn to when digestive health and condition need additional support.

Over the years, we’ve seen some incredible results when using FABBY as part of a complete management approach, particularly with OTTs requiring gut support during their transition off the track.

No supplement works in isolation. Quality forage, an appropriate feeding program, routine dental care, parasite management and consistent day-to-day care all play an important role. However, when combined with these fundamentals, FABBY has repeatedly helped us support horses struggling with digestive health, condition and feed utilisation.

We believe that lasting results come from addressing the whole horse, not searching for quick fixes. Thoughtful management, quality nutrition and time remain the foundation of every successful rehabilitation journey.

We scratched from our competition… and honestly, more people should.

Between the rain and Lady still feeling quite “wired” after her last outing, it just wasn’t a fair situation to put her in.

She made that clear the moment I started plaiting, fidgety, spooky, unsettled… and eventually breaking out of her halter.

That’s not “bad behaviour.”
That’s a horse telling you they’re not coping.

And this is the part people don’t talk about enough —
just because you’ve entered, doesn’t mean you should go.

We had the option to push through.
We had the option to swap her out for another horse.

But instead… we chose to listen.

And honestly, it felt like the universe had other plans because not long after, we got a pretty exciting call 👀

If it can’t be fixed with Quit-Itch… I don’t want to know about it.

Jokes aside, this is something we use consistently as part of our bathing routine.

Especially after wet weather, they’ll often get a wash in this to treat anything that might be starting before it becomes an issue.

It’s a staple in our wash bucket for a reason.
