DAY 3
LINVILLE TO TOOGOOLAWAH
ONE WORD…
BRUTAL😅
Should have been 34km’s however with a couple of diversions ended up 36km’s😜
Steps… 60598.
Started out from Linville at 5.30am temp was already 19 degrees.
By 8am cloud cover was starting to disperse and temps headed into the mid 20’s, pleasant enough with a light breeze pushing from behind.
By 10am things were really heating up, temp was climbing quickly and by Harlin (20 km’s in) we were really feeling it.
Stopped for 40 minutes, cooled off, rehydrated, shoes off and chilled👌
Headed out of Harlin and hit 36 degrees…
BRUTAL, the next 14 kilometres had me rethinking my life choices😅
Stopped to recoup in the shade whenever we could, slowed our pace and really took note of what our bodies needed to get through👌
With Toogoolawah finally in our sites, it’s amazing how that second gear can kick in and your pace quickens😅
First stop the local IGA, bought a bucket and a bag of ice. Checked in and immediately iced our feet.
GAMECHANGER!
We have been doing this after each leg of the hike, feet feel new again👌
Many along the way have asked me WHY I chose to take the harder option of walking over riding.
My response..
WHY NOT😅
There’s so much beauty, history and moments you miss as you zoom on by!
Slow down and take it in👌
ENJOY the photo bomb🤩
