The Cabarita Community Post Office is currently seeking volunteers to support our Postal service in Cabarita. Training is provided and it's a great way to meet people, get some experience in customer service and make a valuable contribution to our growing Cabarita community. If you would like to help out and a have a few hours to spare, please contact Mel Binding on 0447 790 949 or speak to one of our friendly volunteers at the Post office for more information.

ℹ️ ELIGIBILITY & PRIZE INFORMATION

To clear up any confusion regarding event results: under tournament conditions, players were strictly eligible to enter and win only one division.

Because of this single-division rule, junior golfers who posted winning scores in A, B, C, or Ladies grades were ineligible to claim those specific grade titles (though all players remained eligible to compete for the overall lowest scratch score). Additionally, players who qualified for the Scratch/Gross seeded group but were unable to play in that group were ineligible to win that Gross division.

A special shoutout to junior players Michael Mooney and Lucy Batchelor, who missed out on grade division prizes purely due to the one-division rule—outstanding golf from both of you!

Merbein Golf Club – Fortnightly Wrap-Up

It’s been another sensational fortnight of action at Merbein Golf Club, filled with hot scoring, a dominant Monthly Medal performance, and plenty of lighthearted family banter around the clubhouse.

The fun kicked off on Wednesday, 29 July, with a tightly contested Stableford event. Jamie Judd held his nerve to claim the Amalfi Pizza voucher on a countback after both he and runner-up Frank Crouch carded top-shelf 38-point rounds.

Saturday, 1 August, was all about the Monthly Medal (Stroke), and Jo Klitscher put on an absolute clinic. Jo blew the field away with an astounding nett 61—a score that has to be in serious contention for round of the year—to scoop the August Medal and the Drummond Golf voucher, finishing four shots clear of a red-hot Phil Williams (nett 65). The day also featured a highlight moment on the 17th, where Shane Trinick dropped an eagle, and a classic family scoreboard twist: while Maxy Trinick put in a solid round of 73, Sam Trinick found himself taking home the NAGA award!

On Wednesday, 5 August, Shane Cordell put on a display of pure consistency, firing a brilliant 39 points to comfortably claim the Amalfi Pizza voucher ahead of Shane Gerring on 32 points.

Saturday, 8 August, delivered another fantastic day of scoring as Dylan Burnett went low with a brilliant 41 points to take out top honors and the Drummond Golf voucher. Playing alongside runner-up Shane Martin (37 pts), Dylan not only claimed full bragging rights in their group but also closed the gap on Shane’s handicap, sitting just a half-stroke behind. Meanwhile, Frank Crouch picked up the NAGA to complete the week’s drama.

Rounding out the fortnight on Wednesday, 12 August, the Price family story took another funny turn! After Robert Price found himself holding the NAGA just a few weeks back, he flipped the script to claim victory with 37 points. To make the win even sweeter, son Will Price—who took out the win on 22 July—was the one walking away with the NAGA this time around. Golf certainly has a way of coming full circle!
