💕⚡️Joy of joys: Cassettes have special Guest Teacher Katy Woods leading tonight and Friday morn’s classes! 🎉

🧜🏼‍♀️⚡️Part mermaid, part human, Katy is a dance artist with over 20 years experience in performance and embodied creative exploration.

⚡️💖Katy led The Cassettes’ Flashmob Dance Co’s Grease mash-up Brunswick Picture House and Splendour in the Grass , and choreographed Hit Me With Your Best Shot for Byron Theatre 🎉.

💫She finds great joy in making spaces where people can connect through expression, rhythm, and the delight of dancing.

🌄She is currently based in Toowoomba, so we’re extra excited and lucky to have her in the Shire, sharing her organic style of contemporary and improvised movement.

⚡️😿💗Farewell to the open-hearted, talented, unstoppable, funny and incomparably generous Dolly Parton, who died this week aged 80. We love and thank you 💕.

Dolly grew up in extreme poverty, the fourth of twelve children.

When she became an internationally adored superstar, she chose to give most of her financial wealth away (while also rocking an abundance of gemstones, towering hair-dos, and her own themepark). Dolly raised tens of millions of dollars for a wide range of charities, and founded Imagination Library.

As reported on ABC News , the Queen of Country’s literacy program has significantly helped prevent early literacy gaps throughout the world, particularly in the US where it is arguably most needed.

💖The very best of grunge, balanced with pure-joy 80s rock. Sooooooo looking forward to dancing ThIS wEEk with the Bangalow and Ocean Shores gangs.

⚡️✨Preparing to birth a new Semester at Cassettes 🪩.

🌈It’s a cosmic experience.

⚡️😍Cassette assistants and teachers put a lot of love and care into warm-up and main choreographies: We really get ✨inside✨the songs.

🌊🎶Each dance is like a landscape we traverse before sharing it with the class.

🎶⚡️We choose songs that speak to us personally, while also relating to the term or semester theme: currently 80s rock, and grunge.

👩‍🎤Being a rebel, sometimes I break that self-imposed rule (upcoming warm-up: 🍑Big P***y Energy by Girls5Eva 😆).

⚡️😍Coz more important than theme is the magical Cassette balance: Sharing routines that are original and refreshing in some way; have clear counts and musicality so they’re relatively easy to learn; and through it all a sense of fun, momentum and authenticity.
