Whenever I post about my experiences on grief and change I get lovely people checking in to see if I’m ok.

And the truth is, grief is an emotion that cycles through my body often… and though usually met with resistance at first, the more I allow it to flow through me, the more access I have to joy and beauty, to feeling my own and others hearts, and the more my life flows and redirects me in its own natural way.

But - it’s a practice, the welcoming in and giving this sometimes subtle. sometimes tidal wave like force, space to move and change me.

Downshift -
A neuro somatic movement class.

6 week course - Monday @4:30-5:30pm.

2 classes for $30 intro 💫

Combine mindful movement with applied neuro science tools to help regulate your nervous system, release tension and create more ease in the way you move and feel in your body. 🫶🏽🫶🏽

This is for you if you feel burnt out, over stimulated, recovering from injury, you’re a chronic push on, push through or push past type, you feel tired but wired, feel restless, and desire a kinder, more attuned relationship with your body.

This new body of work explores what it means to move away from constantly pushing through, pushing on, and pushing past your body’s needs and capacity—and instead begin listening and attuning to it.

It’s for you if you’ve been a chronic over-exerciser, if you have a history of using movement as punishment, or if your inner dialogue feels critical and harsh.

It’s also for you if you’ve been living in survival mode—feeling overstimulated, tired but wired—knowing you need to slow down, but find that slowing down feels scary… or you simply not knowing how to.

This series offers support and guidance as you learn to reconnect with yourself, build capacity and resilience, and most importantly, cultivate a more compassionate and loving relationship with your body and how it moves through the world.

Held
6 week workshop beginning May 4th.

Summer time road trips…
Hot dogs licking the salt off of my arms whilst we drive from one beach to the next.
Too many rum balls… far too much sun!
Finding a new ocean swim companion who’s twice my age… walking secluded headlands.
Seeing the stoke of Roos adventure face smelling new smells out the window as we sleepily make our way to another beach each morning. Steaks on the bbq, potato chips… rest. The soothing sound of a fan oscillating fan during an afternoon nap. Running past kangaroos as tall as me on my early morning jogs…
The kind of holiday that is never quite long enough… x

6:10am I woke without an alarm.
My new habit, to check the wind direction before messaging Odette for a bay swim.
‘Is SW ok’ I ask my love. ‘There will be a little ripple, but the wind is light as it’s early.’
Odette has beat me to the ‘Morning!’ text…
Friends who are up at silly hours are my people… We are both up for giving it a go.
So I roll out of bed, not giving much thought to the sharks today, thanks to day four of my cycle and the sheer optimism it brings!
I walk towards the surf club, the sun already blistering at 26 degrees, hopeful that the ocean gods are gentle on us today…
The bay is flat with the tiniest little ripple…
As I turn the corner, into Odette’s open arms of willingness, we chat about our shared need of daily movement in order to function well in this world. The walk up the beach is always a mix of business check ins, cycle updates, and gratitude lists for the even smallest of thing, the other cheering on every minuscule win we can find on the harder days when you have to dig deep.
There’s an unusual amount of fishy action on show today, all different varieties, the ocean floor textured slightly different to last time, my heart, grateful for the oceans ever changing ways, helping me to embrace the joy and surprise element of change.
Odette and I intermittently stop to point out fish or to remind one another they are safe. I put my head back into the lucrative fish show, and with each stroke, ask for guidance, gentleness and ease for the week ahead. Always, always ask for help I remind myself! 🩵 The ocean always has messages for you, if you’re willing to ask.
