⚡ Important Weather Update – Lightning & Severe Weather Guidance for Tonight ⚡

With the forecast indicating the possibility of thunderstorms and severe weather this evening, we ask all clubs, players, officials, volunteers and spectators to be aware of our weather safety procedures.

🌩 Lightning Safety
If lightning is present in the immediate vicinity of the venue, all football activity must stop immediately and everyone must seek appropriate shelter.

We follow the 30/30 Lightning Safety Guideline:
⏱️ If the time between seeing lightning and hearing thunder is less than 30 seconds, play or training must be suspended.
⏱️ Activity must not resume until at least 30 minutes after the last sighting of lightning or sound of thunder. Blue skies or no rain do not override this 30-minute requirement.

Safe Shelter
✅ A large, fully enclosed building is the safest option.
✅ If no building is available, a fully enclosed vehicle with a metal roof and windows fully closed provides some protection.

In the event of suspended play, Avoid -
• Open playing fields
• Trees, light poles and goal posts
• Coaches' boxes, picnic shelters and tents
• Umbrellas or anything that increases your height
• Using electrical equipment such as scoreboards

In addition to lightning, officials will continue to monitor any other severe weather conditions. Any decision to delay, suspend or abandon matches will be made in consultation with umpires, club officials and the League Administrator, with the safety of all participants remaining the highest priority.

If a match cannot be completed:
• If the match has not commenced, the result will be determined by the League.
• If the match is abandoned before halftime, it will be recorded as a draw, with the score at the time of abandonment used for percentage calculations.
• If the match is abandoned after halftime, the score at the time play is stopped will stand as the final result.
• Where play cannot resume within a reasonable period, the League may determine the result, declare the match abandoned or order a replay.
