Geographe Bay Yacht Club The Geographe Bay Yacht Club is situated on the picturesque shores of Geographe Bay in Busselton West Come and be part of the fun, on and off the water!

We are a vibrant sailing club offering Saturday sailing with juniors racing in the morning and seniors in the afternoon, along with Learn to Sail programs for all skill levels. As a members' club (due to our liquor license), we welcome non-sailors to join as social members for just $30 to enjoy our amazing facilities. We're open every Friday and Saturday night for dinner in summer, and Sundays fro

m 2pm for our famous Sunday Sessions. The Geographe Bay Yacht Club was established in 1959. The club's current membership stands at over 1000 members and offers regular sailing to the following classes:

Mixed dinghy fleet
Keelboats and Sportsboats
Sharpies
Mixed Catamaran's including Hobie 14 and 16, Tornado, Windrush 14's and Nacra F18's. Jds
Pelicans
Tasar
Juniors are well accommodated at the Geographe Bay Yacht Club with one of the best equipped and experienced sail trainers in Kevin Rose. Sail Training Centre also caters for teenagers as well as adults for dinghy, catamaran and cruiser sailing. Both members and visitors alike are always welcome. The Geographe Bay Yacht Club is home to the largest yachting regatta in Western Australia. The annual Geographe Bay Race Week is run every year in the last week of February/first week of March and attracts upwards of 100 yachts to the bay every year. In addition to the Geographe Bay Race week, the Geographe Bay Yacht Club sailing season incorporates the annual Australia Day Weekend Regatta plus the youth focused Geographe Bay Championships for Pelicans hosted over Easter each year. Sailing season runs from October through to April. Membership runs from 1 September through to 31 August the following year.

FINALS FOOTY IS ON AT THE CLUB!

The new sailing season is just getting started, but we’re not waiting around for the action!

While we get ready for another big season on the water, we’re opening the Club for AFL Finals footy – big screen, cold drinks, good company and plenty of finals atmosphere.

THURSDAY NIGHT

Fremantle v Hawthorn | 6:10pm

The Dockers take on the Hawks in a massive Qualifying Final. Restaurant OPEN, so grab dinner, a drink and settle in for the game.

FRIDAY NIGHT
Geelong v Carlton | 5:40pm
Another huge finals clash! Restaurant OPEN, so make a night of it – but dinner bookings are essential - its going to be huge.

SATURDAY
Sydney v Brisbane | 1:15pm
We’re opening the Club for the afternoon so you can catch all the action. Restaurant CLOSED, so bring your own snacks, grab a drink and settle in!

And we’re staying open for the second game…

Adelaide v Western Bulldogs | 5:35pm
Two finals. One Club. A whole afternoon of footy!

Whether you’re a die-hard supporter or just love watching finals football, come down, bring your crew and enjoy the games with us.

The Fremantle Dockers take on Hawthorn TONIGHT in a massive Qualifying Final – and the road to the Grand Final starts here!

NEW SEASON, NEW BEGINNINGS – LET’S GET THE CLUB READY!

The boats are coming out, the sails are going up and we’re getting GBYC ready for another big season!

Join us for our Season Kick-Off Busy Bee on Sunday 13 September from 9am.

Help us get the club ship-shape with a few jobs including:

Putting up the sails
Getting equipment ready
Tidying up the grounds
Tackling those jobs that are easier with a few extra hands

It’s a great morning to pitch in, meet other members, catch up with friends and get involved in your club.

Then we’ll fire up the BBQ, grab a drink and enjoy a sausage sizzle together!

Sunday 13 September | 9am–1pm

Come for an hour or stay for the morning – every helping hand makes a difference!

Now’s the time to get your membership sorted and make sure you’re ready for another season of racing, cruising and good times on the water.

EARLY BIRD RATES ARE NOW LIVE!

Renew your sailing membership before 1 October to lock in the lower Early Bird rate before fees increase.

The new membership season has started at GBYC, and there’s no better time to get your membership sorted and get back on the start line.

2026/27 SAILING MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOW DUE

Early Bird rates are now live: renew before 1 October and save.

All sailing members from last season should have received their membership invoice. If you haven’t received yours, check your inbox and spam/junk folder, and if it’s still missing, email [email protected] and we’ll send it through.

Need to update something or spotted an error on your invoice? Just contact the office before paying and we’ll get it sorted.
