Our Matildas are currently the biggest national sporting team in the country.

Their success at the World Cup has put the world game, and women’s football in particular, in the spotlight.

More girls and women than ever are interested in playing the game and that’s why we’re making a new $9.3 million funding commitment to grow grassroots football right here in WA.

It includes a $2.4 million grants program to improve facilities and infrastructure for the clubs participating in the NPL women’s competition as well as $6.1 million towards an expansion to the recently completed State Football Centre.

Our investment in the women’s game is all about making sure every young Western Australian has the opportunity to become the next Sam Kerr.

It'll be a brilliant celebration of community football - and give young fans the opportunity to meet their role models.

West Aussies can secure tickets to the free event this week - with tickets available to our local football community as well as members of the public.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches! 💕⚽️🙌🏼

A huge number of players turned out over the 3 week trial period, impressing the selectors with their skills and abilities. It was a tough decision over such a short period to narrow down and make final team decisions, but here we have our 2023 Country Week Squad!

To the players who were unsuccessful on this occasion, we strongly encourage you all to try again next year. Trialling in itself is a great opportunity to show your abilities and gain feedback on where you may need to improve. There was a lot of tough competition.

The LNJSA wishes everyone the best of luck for the remainder of the season and to the selected squad, we wish you all the best in your weekly training sessions. Enjoy the school holiday break and then it's onwards and upwards to squad training and Country Week in September!
