We've kept you in suspense long enough! Here is how our mushers have been going with their challenges 🐾 Now it is winter the pace is picking up and things are getting exciting! Kirby and Sue have been admirably battling it out for first place in the Yukon 1000...only next update will tell who reaches 'Fairbanks' first 🫣

Based on your feedback and looking further into the forecast, committee have made the tough call to postpone our event this weekend. Unfortunately, even if we were keen enough to brave the battering rain on Sunday night, the temperatures are not appropriate during the times we would race on any of the three days. We want to give you a fun and safe race experience full of good, cold (and preferably dry) runs so let's keep our fingers crossed the July weekend offers just that! We will reschedule Sled Dog Masters for the 11th and 12th of July. As this is not a long weekend, it will now be a two heat race. Hopefully everyone can still make it as Running West have had this date blocked out in the calendar all year BUT if you can't, we are happy to sort out a refund for you. If you are fine with your entries rolling over we will leave them as they are, any questions feel free to reach out! Have a nice, dry long weekend everyone!

Here it is! Running Wests Yukon Quest in a Year 2026 competitor list & first scoreboard! Fantastic to see both familiar names and some new ones from across the country (you may be able to guess who is a Perth resident 🥵 & who isn't 😂) But seriously, AMAZING to see our trail breakers take on this year's round with such enthusiasm and we look forward to everyone achieving their different distance goals this year! 🐾

The final scoreboard post for the Iditarod in a Year 2025 challenge! And what a challenge it was! Thank you to everyone who supported the club and the competitors in our first year running a year-long fitness competition. Even to the very last day, competitors were cheering each other on and throughout 2025 no one ever had to feel alone in reaching their fitness goals. The dogs all went on some great adventures, no matter how far along in the challenge their humans got, and having fun with our dogs was all that mattered! Everyone should be so proud of themselves and their pups 💜

There are only 6 days left to enter our next challenge - the Yukon Quest in a Year 2026! It is NOT too late to join us on our next adventure and there is a distance for everyone. We will be announcing the competitors who have signed up already very soon! Spoiler alert, some have already made it to their first checkpoint!! 🐾
