SO PROUD OF JENNY! Jenny was our main instructor and is greatly missed in that capacity. She is now manager and CFI of one of the best soaring clubs in the country, Lake Keepit Soaring Club in NSW. Check out the following Google review from an Alice Springs airline pilot, who started his gliding career with a trial flight with NT Soaring.
"My reflections post a 5-day intensive gliding course at LKSC.
Jenny. The legend herself. Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, good humor, and for sharing your enormous amount of experience. I arrived knowing little, and have left with the confidence to continue to build upon the foundation you have set beneath me. I’m immensely proud to have your name in my logbook and look forward to our next intensive together.
Jenny worked from 9am until past sunset each day to provide the maximum training experience during our 5-day intensive course. This included theory, pre-flight briefings and exceptional post flight de-briefs. Our training also included all of the ground duties and use of the club equipment (quads etc).
A huge thank you to our experienced tug pilot, Dan. Dan was a critical element throughout the entire week. Despite the cold, he was always within a few meters when needed for a launch, complete with enthusiasm and a smile. Being towed behind a very smooth, capable and competent pilot was a dream while training.
Thanks also to the unsung heros behind the flight line. Namely Michelle, who provided exceptional support in the lead-up to the course. Michelle, your communication is second-to-none amongst gliding clubs. Thank you! I wish I could have met and named more of the team, but we were never without a learning mission, even when the weather wasn’t suitable for flying.
Finally, a note on the facilities. The cabin-style accommodation is commercial quality. Despite this, we spent most of our free time by the log fire in the club-room, which is equipped with a kitchen, BBQ’s, and numerous entertainment options. Everyone from the age of 5 through to 105 is sure to love the accommodation, club room, and grounds (which seems to have more wild animals than a wildlife sanctuary).
You get what you pay for. LKSC isn’t the cheapest, but they are the best."
