Gate or Parighasana pose is featured in this week's general classes, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

It is one of four poses that make up a sequence that invites us to connect to Heaven and Earth.

Each pose represents four phases of the moon, the new moon, waxing or waning moon, half moon and the full moon.

๐Ÿฆ…Eagle Pose (Garudasana) challenges the brain by requiring you to cross your arms and legs over the body's midline, which boosts neurological coordination and focus.

๐Ÿง This challenge benefits the brain by:

Contralateral Activation: Crossing opposite sides of the body stimulates communication between both hemispheres of the brain.

Enhanced Coordination: Synchronizing the wrapping of arms, wrists, legs, and ankles demands high mental concentration.

Going through the options for both arms and legs, taking it step by step, allows us to listen to the wisdom of our body, choosing the options that are right when we put it all together.

Benefits of a weighted eye pillow

Triggers the "Rest and Digest" Response

The gentle weight of an eye pillow (often filled with flaxseeds and/or dried lavender flowers) places light pressure on the eyelids. This pressure stimulates the vagus nerve and activates the oculocardiac reflex, which naturally slows down your heart rate and lowers blood pressure. It shifts your nervous system out of "fight or flight" mode and directly into a deeply restorative state.

Eliminates Visual Overstimulation

Even when your eyes are closed, your eyelids still let in ambient light, which keeps the brain alert. By completely blocking out light, an eye pillow signals the brain that it is safe to rest. This total darkness encourages the natural production of melatonin (the sleep and relaxation hormone), helping you turn your focus inward and stop overthinking.

Relieves Screen-Induced Eye

StrainStaring at phones and computers all day leaves the delicate muscles around your eyes tight, dry, and fatigued. The conforming weight of the pillow encourages the forehead, eyebrows, and temples to actively surrender and drop their subconscious tension

Key Benefits of Alternate nostril breath

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Calms the mind: It balances your nervous system and lowers anxiety.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Improves heart health: It can lower your blood pressure and slow a racing pulse.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Better breathing: It strengthens lung function and improves oxygen flow.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Sharpens focus: It clears mental fog and helps you pay attention.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Better sleep: Doing it before bed relaxes your body for rest.

What is a sankalpa?

It is a heartfelt intention or resolve, used in yoga to plant a seed of positive awareness in the subconscious mind.

Unlike a standard New Year's resolution or a measurable to-do list goal, a sankalpa is not about "fixing" yourself or achieving a temporary outer milestone.

Rather, it focuses on beingโ€”aligning your conscious and subconscious awareness with your highest truth and inner potential.

" I trust the wisdom of my body ", is a sankalpa that I have chosen for this week's Third eye chakra class.

This week's class focuses on the Ajna or Third eye chakra...... Trust your intuition.

This chakra is located between the eyes and connects to the pituitary and pineal glands, the eyes and the mind's capacity for intuition, imagination and higher awareness.
