APL RECAP!
Words can’t express how frickin proud I am of this woman! This was her first sleeved comp & can confirm she prefers being in wraps 🤭
While the day didn’t quite go to plan she still walked away with some pretty insane numbers & new PBs 💪🏽 This woman is just incredible, with the effort she puts into each session in the gym to what she brings onto the platform. She’s so strong but will always doubt that she is. Lara is down right just an awesome human & it’s such a privilege to coach her. She also has some mad skills of being able to sleep absolutely anywhere (3 naps in one day) & down bananas like there’s no tomorrow 😂
APL Pro was such an experience to be at, not only for Lara as a lifter but myself as a coach.
It was inspiring to see such massive numbers getting lifted on the platform & hearing the powerlifting community cheering & encouraging everyone showing Melbourne what APL & powerlifting is all about, let me tell you it was sooo loud! (Thankful I took my loops haha) It was probably the most crowded spot at the expo.
Big shout out to APL for putting on such an awesome comp as always. for all the helpers on the day, the MC for the weekend (not sure if he had a voice left after that) the refs & spotters and loaders for keeping everyone safe. The comps wouldn’t run without you guys giving up your time. Also big thanks to for your help on the day, we worked together as a team to make sure both Lara & Onica were warming up, loading the bar for warm ups & we’re both on track to hit that platform on time. appreciate you🙏
Bring on APL DT Nationals in Sydney 💪🏽
SQUAT- 150kg (sleeves) PB!
She squatted 160kg but missed it by depth like an inch!
BENCH- 80kg PB!
(finally got the bench she’s been chasing for so long!)
DEADLIFT- 170kg equal PB
Can also confirm we did not get lost this time in Melbourne. Proud of us 😂
