Each mat is its own little world — your breath, your body, your moment to tune in. Yet the energy moves between us without a single word.

That’s the magic of practice: it’s deeply personal, and completely shared at the same time.

It's hard to explain until you experience it for yourself.

Did you know that community is a strong pillar of health and wellbeing? Strong social connections and a sense of belonging actively protect against chronic disease, buffer against stress, and promote longer lives.

All that plus I just love hangin' out with my homies. Thanks to these ladies for being part of a super fun photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. We got some great shots, fell over a lot and had a few belly laughs. And thank you to Charlie for the photos. More to come :)

Aerial yoga isn’t just about flexibility and flowing shapes — it’s an incredible tool for building strength too.

Using the swing creates instability, which means your core, shoulders, arms and stabilising muscles have to work harder to support you. From suspended planks to inversions and controlled transitions, aerial yoga challenges the body in a completely different way to traditional strength training.

In Vinyasa Flow, the breath is more than just breathing… it’s your anchor. 🌬️✨

When we move into challenging poses like arm balances and inversions, it’s easy for the body to tense and the mind to panic. But the moment we return to the breath, everything changes.

A steady inhale creates space, length and lift.
A controlled exhale helps engage the core, build stability and calm the nervous system.

Props in yoga are never about “making it easier” — they’re about creating awareness, support, and understanding within the body. ✨

Whether it’s a block, strap, bolster, wall… or an aerial hammock, props allow us to explore movement with more safety, confidence, and connection.

In aerial yoga, the hammock becomes an incredibly supportive prop that can: • decompress the spine
• reduce pressure on joints
• support deeper mobility without forcing
• improve balance and body awareness
• build strength and stability
• help students feel safe exploring new movement patterns.

A little snippet from today’s Slow Flow… sped up slightly because, let’s be honest, our attention spans aren’t always built for slow motion 😄
But that’s exactly why slow flow matters.
It teaches us patience, presence, control and awareness — helping us move with intention instead of rushing through the moment.
Sometimes the slower we move, the more we feel. ✨

Why can some people backbend more easily than others? 🤸‍♀️

It’s not always about “trying harder.” Backbending ability can depend on many factors including:
✨ Natural spinal mobility.
✨ Shoulder and hip flexibility
✨ Bone structure and joint shape
✨ Strength and stability
✨ Past injuries or tension patterns
✨ Consistent practice over time
Some bodies are naturally more mobile, while others need to build strength and openness gradually. And that’s okay. Yoga isn’t about forcing your body into the deepest shape — it’s about creating balance, awareness and safety within your own body.
A healthy backbend is not just flexibility. It’s strength, breath, control and patience working together. 🌿
The goal is never to look like someone else. The goal is to move in a way that supports YOUR body for the long term. 💛
