SAAMBR members to be presented MAAA medals this weekend.

MAAQ and SAAMBR members Simon Atkinson and James McAllen will be presented with MAAA Service medallions this Saturday 20th July at the APA Pattern comp at SAAMBR - Jim Gibson field (Burpengary).

Simon and James were the key organisers for the 2023 F3A Pattern World Championships held at Warwick in August 2023. The event was a huge success and heralded by all international competitors and visitors as setting a new high standard for World Champs.

Congratulations and well-deserved recognition of your effort's guys.

Saambr would like to express our thanks for Moreton Bay City council's grant money which has provided us with our much needed fire pump to help keep us safe in the upcoming fire season.

SAAMBR members and visitors, - Jim Gibson Field will be Closed on Friday the 11th of August.

Favourable weather conditions are anticipated on Friday, and Moreton Bay Council will be conducting a planned burn on our property starting at 7am and continuing for the entire day.

This will be a large fire and the expected north-westerly breeze will produce a very large smoke plume. We do not want anyone not associated to the burn attending the field to ensure their safety and to avoid the smoke.

QFS, Council and council contractors will be on site the entire time of the burn and will stay until the site is safe.

This planned burn is expected to make your field safer and is a necessary step prior to the upcoming dry season.

Temporary closure of Jim Gibson Field – 3rd August 2023

MBRC is planning a large fire/burn in the Burpengary East area in the month of August. As part of this activity there will be preparatory work required at our Jim Gibson field from 7am to 11am on Thursday 3rd of August.

The warning lights will be activated whilst the works are underway to indicate that the field is closed for flying during this time. Once all work is complete and all resources are removed from our flying area the lights will be turned off indicating the filed is open again for normal use.

This work is part of an overall strategy of MBRC to undertake improvements within our leased area and is an important step in keeping our field safe, so please support this activity by not attending the field during this time.
