🟡⚫️ Burnie United FC this is it. Our boys are heading to Launceston for their final away game at Riverside FC on August 29th, and we need YOUR help to get them there in style.

We’re running raffles at every home game between now and then – and we’re calling on our incredible community to dig deep.

Lighting Improvements Given the Green Light for Montello Park.

Taken from Deputy Mayor G Simpson Post, about Burnie City Council’s Draft 2026-27 Annual Plan and Budget was passed at last nights extra long meeting.

Key highlights in our budget were:
A $29.4 million Capital Works Program focused on renewing existing assets and reducing maintenance backlogs including

✔ $2.3M Sports Lighting Improvements, which was a big win! We will now have upgrades to:

• Burnie United Football Club finally!
• McKenna Park Sports Complex
• and West Park Oval.

But we also need to take a moment to shout out two very special former Burnie United F.C. players who went head-to-head in that final:

✨ Tully Parke (Devonport Strikers) Tully, played her role to perfection in this big win. And watching you grow into the complete all-round footballer has been an absolute joy.

✨ Maya Mitchell (Launceston United) Maya, your work rate and heart for the game shine every single time. We love seeing you give your all and grow into the brilliant player.

We saw both of you put in a massive shift on that pitch.

Huge, heartfelt congratulations to two of our own past players: Eli Luttmer (Captain) with Kingborough Lions United Football Club, and Connor Parke (Co-Captain) with Devonport Strikers Football Club.

To see you both lead from the front, wearing those armbands with pride, commitment, and real love for the game… that’s the stuff we dream about for our young men when they leave our sheds for bigger opportunities. You made us proud just by stepping out there.

We witnessed both of you put in an excellent shift on the pitch for this match.

And on the day, when it came down to it, as much as we love you both – there could only be one winner.
