Southside Stingers have entered the Australia Fastpitch Shootout here in QLD in October. With many international tournaments over past three years in NZ, Indonesia and USA, we are back at Redlands, where we had our very first men’s team compete at Friendship Series many years ago.
We have been lucky to pick up two extremely experienced coaches - Warren Stoddard and Paul Algar, along with current Men’s Steelers player - Matt Wickham and also current NZ Black Sox and U23 Black Sox player - Tane Mumu.
8 players with various levels of World Cup experience and majority having played in one or more of our International or local tournaments with our travel teams in past 3-4 years.
Tane, Corie List, Zahr Shaw-Wallace and Cody Smith are all off to the biggest men’s Fastpitch tournament for the Northern Summer this weekend - The ISC Fastpitch tournament in Melbourne, Canada in their respective teams.

Big shout out to our Mens masters team today who despite being a Div 4 team, went 2 from 3 in a very highly competitive Div 1/2 grade.
An absolute mark of respect for their minutes silence for Michael Metekingi, who suddenly passed away yesterday. Several of the Stingers boys had played several years throughout the rep and club scene with Mikey back in the day.
Sincere condolences to his family.

On another note - hug your mates your mates tight this weekend, especially the ones you dont get to see often and have that extra b**r (altough we know most of you dont need that encouragement), the sport has lost another legend too young and a team mate to so many through Brisbane and QLD softball. 💔🥎
