Congratulations to the winners of the Bowls ACT 2026 Doran Bowl 💛💙💛💙

Our Canberra North Bowls News and Events ladies won 2 from 2 and took the top spot. 🏆

A big thank you to all the teams for supporting the event and stepping in to fill teams so we had a fair competition for all.

🏆 Bungendore Bowling and Sports Club: 2026 Women's Pairs Champions 🏆

Congratulations to our newly crowned champions, Kayla Smith and Danielle Gronow!
Kayla and Danielle took out the title in a hard-fought 20-13 win against Kate Green and Bronwyn Budd.

The crowd was treated to a fine display of quality bowls, with the match remaining neck-and-neck before the winners kicked away late in the game. Sensational effort from all four finalists. Well done Kate and Bronwyn on a fantastic campaign, and congratulations Kayla and Danielle on your well-deserved victory.

A Historic Milestone for the Bowlo!
A huge thank you to all of our Lady members who participated in this championship. This was the first time since 2013 that the club has been able to hold the Women's Pairs Event! Thank you all so much for supporting its return—let's keep the momentum going!

💙💛 ONLY 5 SPOTS LEFT 💛💙

The Bungendore Bowling & Sports Club is now seeking team nominations for the upcoming 2026-27 Bungendore Business Bowls competition.

As we did last year, we intend to play 16 rounds (including finals) on Wednesday and Thursday nights during daylight savings. Rounds 1 - 9 will start from mid-October and play through to mid-December, and Rounds 10-16 from mid-January through to end-February.

The first 28 teams entered will secure a spot - if we receive more than 28 team nominations we will look to hold the competition over three nights.

The cost to nominate a team will be $400 - this also includes 4 Social Bowling memberships for your nominated players.

There are also sponsorship opportunities such as signage (800mmx600mm) along our fence line - for a $400 annual fee.

📣📣 NO SOCIAL BOWLS THIS SUNDAY 📣📣

Due to the club hosting a Bowls ACT event on Sunday 30 August, there will be be no social bowls.

Matches will start at 9am so please come down and cheer on our three teams playing in the event - it’s a fantastic opportunity for our ladies and building support for women in the sport 💪

Every Wednesday morning we host a SOCIAL BOWLS session.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦It’s open to everyone, mixed and all ages - so why not come down and try your hand at a game. Wear flat soled shoes and no experience required!

⏱️ Play starts by 10am

The Bowls ACT 2026 Doran Bowl event will be hosted by Bungendore Bowling & Sports Club on Sunday 30 August. This event is open to any female bowler whose initial date of registration is after January 1st 2022. Nominations close Sunday 23 August at MIDNIGHT.

If the Doran Bowl entries exceed 14, the event will be held at Queanbeyan Bowling Club. If the event entries are 14 or below, the event will be held at Bungendore.

The Doran Bowl is one of the ACT’s longest standing events, with history dating back to 1954. Doran Bowl side consists of a team of 4 players, generally from the same Club. The exception to the same club rule is when a composite team is created to allow more players to compete. The Club of the winning team becomes the host for the following year’s event. The composite team is eligible to win the event, but in this case, the next placed team will be the host for the following year. Players may change positions between the first and second matches.

Event Format
➡️An open draw will be conducted prior to the event. Maximum two (2) trial ends shall be permitted at the commencement of each game.
➡️Dead ends do not count – ends to be replayed.
➡️Format is two bowl fours played over two games of 15 ends, over each day.
➡️Club uniform is to be worn
