The rain did not deter us from our Farm trip on Thursday. As we neared "Bunya Hill" the rain stopped, the clouds parted and the sun came out. What a wonderful day we had at this amazing property. The food was great, the company lovely and the scenery was magnificent. Thank you Tiaan, Ash and Tina for allowing us to share in your little piece of paradise.

Our Thursday daytime players recently welcomed a group of players from Hervey Bay to our courts for some friendly matches and a chance to play someone different. A total of 20 players participated – 10 from each team. This turned out to be an enjoyable and friendly morning. Although Hervey Bay outplayed our team winning 7 rubbers to our 3, there were some very close and exciting matches played. The overall points difference was only 53 which was a great effort for our relatively inexperienced Bundaberg players. We concluded the morning with a lovely luncheon at River Cruiz. A big thank you to the Hervey Bay players and to Beryl Boge for organising the players and the event. Thank you also to the ladies who provided morning tea. Hervey Bay has shown an interest in a return match in November. Something to look forward to. Maybe we should start training for that now!!

Next Thursday the 9 June the Bundaberg Thursday Players will be hosting a team from the Hervey Bay Squash Club.
This will be the third meeting between these teams and the first one to be held in our newly renovated courts here in Bundaberg. Each Club will bring 10 players making a total of 20 players. Each person will have the opportunity to play one match each, which will be scored 1 point a rally to 15. Morning tea will be provided and lunch at a venue yet to be decided. This is a chance to play different players and build new friendships. It’s not a competition, although we are currently standing at one win each!!.
We encourage any past players and any future persons who may be interested in learning this great game to come and cheer us on. Thursday 9 June from 9am at the John Street Courts.
