Been screaming this for years - and it brings out the pilates pirates πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Pilates has it's place in wellness and mobility, but there's also a reason why most pilates instructors over 40, don't look like the 20yo instructors... πŸ™„πŸ˜˜

"PEPTIDES": NATURAL DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN RISK-FREE!

My 2-cents worth...

πŸ’š I've watched people injecting them
πŸ’š I've been offered them in the gym...πŸ™„
πŸ’š A common argument I hear a LOT for peptide use is that they're naturally produced in the body anyway.... πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

While many peptides are designed to mimic naturally occurring compounds, they're still manufactured in a lab and often used in amounts, combinations or delivery methods that wouldn't normally occur "naturally".

That doesn't automatically make them unsafe...BUT it does mean we should be cautious about assuming "natural" equals "risk-free" 🚫.

As with any emerging therapy, the short-term benefits may be promising, but long-term research is still evolving (and yet to be proven) for many peptide products.

πŸ€” My advice?
Stay curious, stay informed, and don't assume that because something is naturally found in the body, it can't have unintended effects when used therapeutically.

And just because it may be working for someone else - does not mean it's right for you. 🫢

One of the biggest myths we tell ourselves is that getting older means becoming weaker.

It doesn't.

Not if we keep moving.
Not if we keep challenging ourselves.
Not if we keep showing up.

These women aren't training to look a certain way.

They're training for life.

For strong bones. For muscle. For confidence. For independence. For adventures still to come.

Because the goal isn't simply to add years to your life.

It's to add life to your years. πŸ’šπŸ’ͺ

I've put a deposit on a motorhome!

Over the coming months, I'll be setting off around Australia in a motorhome, combining my love of health, fitness, wellbeing, travel and adventure into one incredible journey.

There will be bootcamps in caravan parks, chair fitness classes for active travellers, yoga and mobility sessions by the beach, sunrise workouts, and plenty of stories from the road.

But this journey is about more than travel.

It's about choosing life while we still can.

So many of us spend years saying, "One day..." The truth is, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow. As someone who helps others improve their health every day, I've realised it's time to take my own advice and stop waiting for the perfect time.

Will it be scary? Absolutely. But I'd rather look back and say, "I'm so glad I did that," than wonder what might have been.

Fit to Roam is about staying strong enough to explore, healthy enough to enjoy the journey, and brave enough to follow your heart.

Australia, I'm coming. 🌏❀️

I've made a decision... I'm doing "the thing". 🩷

After a lot of thinking, dreaming, doubting, planning, and soul-searching the past year; I've decided to take my health and wellness business on the road and explore Australia.

For those who know me, you'll know how much I love what I do. I love the gym. I love face-to-face training. I love helping people become stronger, healthier and more confident.

But lately I've been reminded of something important...

We're NOT guaranteed time.

We spend so much of our lives waiting for the "right time" to do the things that call to us. The right time to travel. The right time to take a chance. The right time to follow our heart.

The truth is, I can choose this adventure AFTER I've lived my life... or I can choose to live my life NOW.

So that's what I'm doing.

I'll still be helping people move, feel better and thrive, just from different beaches, country towns, caravan parks and corners of Australia.

This isn't about running away from life.

It's about running towards it.

Here's to new roads, new experiences, and seeing where this next chapter leads. ✨🚐

πŸ’ͺ Strength has no expiry date...

One of the biggest myths I hear from women over 50 is:

*"I'm too old to get stronger."*

The truth?

Strength can improve well into your 60s, 70s, and beyond when training is done safely, consistently, and appropriately for your body.

The key isn't trying to lift the heaviest weight in the gym tomorrow. It's about gradual progress.

Maybe today you squat to a box. In a few weeks, you're squatting a little lower. A few months later, you're carrying your groceries with ease, getting off the floor confidently, or lifting weights you never imagined possible.

Strength isn't built through one hard workout.

It's built through hundreds of small victories:
βœ… One extra rep
βœ… A little more weight
βœ… Better technique
βœ… More confidence
βœ… Showing up when you don't feel like it

As we age, strength training becomes less about aesthetics and more about freedom.

Freedom to travel.
Freedom to play with grandchildren.
Freedom to stay independent.
Freedom to live life on your terms.

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is to become slightly stronger than you were yesterday, while respecting your body's limitations and celebrating what it can do.

Start where you are. Progress at your pace. Trust the process.

Because getting older is inevitable. Getting weaker isn't.

Another qualification added to the toolkit! πŸŽ‰

I'm proud to have completed my Mental Health First Aid accreditation.

While I'm not a mental health professional, this training provides me with the skills to better recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges, offer initial support, and guide people towards appropriate professional help when needed.

As someone who works closely with women, older adults, and people navigating life's many transitions, understanding the connection between physical and mental wellbeing is incredibly important to me.

Every new course helps me better support the amazing people I work with. πŸ’š
