Founded by Mario Rejtano in 2000, we embed a variety of martial arts and self-defence techniques in to our classes. ASP Taekwondo is Bundaberg's only Olympic style, WT-approved Taekwondo club. ou are guaranteed to have fun! We also offer 2 free classes so come and give Taekwondo a try! Our sparring team competes in tournaments around Queensland, Australia, and sometimes even overseas. ASP founder & head instructor Master Mario Rejtano established the Bundaberg headquarters in 1998, after relocating from Sydney. Mario's martial arts career began at the Parramatta PCYC in 1983. Mario was taught from white belt to 2nd Dan under 8th Dan Master Tiger Kim. After eight years Tiger returned to Korea and left Mario in control of his classes. Mario then found 7th dan Master Jeong Tae Kim, 1973 Heavyweight World Champion, and trained under him until gaining his 4th Dan black belt. Fifteen years after beginning Taekwondo, Mario made his move to Bundy. The Bundaberg club first opened in a room at the bus depot, the first night seeing 16 students become the first members. The club quickly became known for the high level of realistic skills being taught.
