BUNDABERG AT NATIONALS 2026

Athlete – Kaysie aka “Your Thighness”

Huge congratulations to Kaysie on an outstanding performance!

Competing in the F30–34 63kg category, she secured gold at both:
🥇Nationals
🥇World Cup

4/6 lifts
Sn**ch: 70kg for a 3kg PB
Clean & Jerk: 87kg
Total: 157kg

The absolute highlight of the day was an incredible 70kg sn**ch — a statement performance going 3/3 in the sn**ch competition. To take what has historically been the weaker lift and turn it into a weapon on the national and world stage is something truly special.

Even better? We know there’s still more there in the clean & jerk 👀

This performance has been built on months of hard work, consistency, resilience, and learning to navigate the reality of being a masters athlete, including managing injuries in the lead-up.

Massive credit to coach for her incredible work behind the scenes, guiding every step of preparation and competition day with absolute professionalism and belief.

70kg sn**ch secured ✅
Double title secured - national champion and world champion ✅

BUNDABERG AT NATIONALS

Athlete: Ruth aka “Beast”
3rd in 45-49yrs - 77kg

5/6 lifts
Sn**ch: 43kg for a 2kg PB
C&J: 62kg for a 3kg PB
Total: 105 for a 5kg PB

Coach Kaysie set out some big numbers for Ruth to shoot for by nationals and Ruth put in the work and delivered! This work wasn’t just strength and technique work in her home garage week in week out but also the mental work of starting to believe in how strong and just how good of a lifter she is!

We are so proud of her efforts and how far she has come already this year.

What a start for Bundaberg Weightlifting Club at the 2026 AWF and UMWF Masters Championships in Adelaide.

Three of our athletes have now stepped onto the platform and all three have delivered outstanding performances.

🥇 Marne taking gold with a record-breaking day on the platform.

🥇 Rachelle claiming gold with an outstanding performance, despite competing with a broken finger 😳

🥉 Ruth securing bronze in a strong and highly competitive field of lifters.

An incredible effort so far from our team, with Kaysie and Zack still to compete on Sunday, so stay tuned.

Bundaberg is making some serious noise on the national stage. Let’s keep it rolling. 💪🏋️
