In 1954 the Marist Brothers arrived and opened St. In 1972 the Bishop of Bunbury decided to amalgamate the two schools into a co-educational Catholic College. As a result Bunbury Catholic College opened in 1973 to cater for Catholics around the Bunbury region. Bunbury Catholic College draws its students from the Greater Bunbury area which has a population in the vicinity of 85 000. Bunbury itself
is a city based around the tenth largest port in Australia, with a large agricultural, mining and industrial infrastructure supporting it. The College is co-ed with approximately 900 students. The students take pride in their proud sporting traditions in Netball, Football, Soccer, Hockey and, of course, Cricket. The College first played in the carnival in Sale and celebrated 21 years in the carnival when we were hosts in January 2004. In 2008 the College celebrated 25 years participation in the Carnival by winning the Marist Carnival in Adelaide hosted by Sacred Heart College. Bunbury Catholic College also won the carnival in 2013 in Shepparton. In addition the College has an annual fixture for the Brother Jordan Redden Trophy against our fellow WA Marist School, Newman College.
