Hay Park Sports Precinct - Bunbury WA

🏐✨ We’re excited to share that upgrades to the Hay Park netball courts are nearly complete!

The project is now in its final stages, with the courts having undergone a complete rebuild with new drainage, lighting, and asphalt. The final stage is now underway with the application of the acrylic playing surface. Works are expected to wrap up by the end of the month.

This project is proudly funded by the City of Bunbury, Bunbury Netball Association, and the State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

We thank our community, especially the Bunbury Netball Association and its members, for their patience during these exciting upgrades and look forward to seeing the courts in action soon! 🏃‍♀️

💜 PERTH GLORY COMING TO BUNBURY 💜

Perth Glory is heading back to Bunbury for another pre-season friendly!

The club has today announced its A-League Men’s team will take on the Newcastle Jets at Hay Park on Sunday 29 September with kick-off at 3pm.

We’ll not only be lucky enough to see some of the country’s best soccer stars on the pitch, but they’ll also be holding a holiday clinic and an open training session in an opportunity to meet both Glory and Jets players.

We’re thrilled to welcome the club back to Bunbury following the Glory’s Women’s team playing games here in 2017 and 2019, with the Men’s team following suit by taking on Melbourne Victory last year.

So proud of you Lozza! You deserved to be in the final, those first 2 races were 🔥 and showed a lot of experience with good race lines, unfortunately BMX can be brutal, and getting squeezed off the track out of the 3rd corner was heartbreaking to watch 💔

You were this close 🤏 and should be incredibly proud of your Olympic performance 💪

SWSA encourage all Club Administrators to do the following:

Ensure:

- ALL senior teams have been loaded into Squadi the morning before the fixture.

- ALL people in the technical area are loaded into the Squadi team sheet ie: Captain, coach, manager & any other role.

- If a FRSW referee hasn’t been allocated, then assign a club referee to the Squadi team sheet.

- ALL club matches have a referee added to the Squadi match.

- Club referees email the game score, yellow or red cards, MVP votes & the list of any players not on the Sqadi team sheet to [email protected] asap.

Email [email protected] if you need help assigning any players, club referees, coaches etc to your club’s Squadi team sheet.

The Squadi team sheet is closed 15 mins before KO

Any registered players unable to be transferred to a Squadi team sheet, need to be listed & the coach is to provide this list to the referee & opposition coach before KO.

This list of players needs to also be emailed to [email protected] & added to the Squadi team sheet by the SWSA admin.

Only referees & SWSA admin. can add the score, yellow or red cards & MVP votes during the game & before the match is closed.

Club referees need to be registered to the club as an official before they can be assigned to a Squadi match.

Coaches, managers & other roles in the technical area, need to be registered to the Club before they can be assigned to the Squadi team sheet.

🏆 BUNBURY GEOGRAPHE SPORTS AWARDS 2024 WINNERS 🏆

The Bunbury Geographe Sports Awards winners were announced during a formal ceremony on Friday, 10 May at BREC.

Hosted by Jaysen Miguel, Bunbury Mayor the annual awards recognised athletes, officials, volunteers and sporting events from across the Bunbury Geographe region.

The renowned Myles Junior Sports Star and AJ (Tood) Buswell South Western Times Sports Star of the year awards were also announced at the ceremony.

Taking out the Myles Junior Sports Star of the Year Award this year was Jay Pfoeffer. Jay is a member of both the Australind Swimming Club and Leschenault Cricket Club.

The Para-Athlete of the Year Award was awarded to swimmer Miranda Kiewiet of the Australind Swimming Club while Taarna Cam also of the Australind Swimming Club was named Coach of the Year.

The 2024 Official of the Year Award was given to Tammie Reid of the Bunbury Water Polo Association.

City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club Surf Sports Team was announced as the Team of the Year and the Volunteer Service to Sport Award was won by Bunbury Water Polo Association’s David O’Connor.

This year’s Event of the Year Award was received by Bunbury United Soccer Club Inc. Junior & Seniors for the Bunbury Junior Soccer Carnival.

The 47th Bunbury Carnival will be held on the 5th & 6th of October 2024.

Registrations will open 1st of May 2024.

Last year was a fantastic jam packed weekend filled with some great soccer. We had 101 teams participate with 95 of these teams travelling down from Perth.
