A real rollercoaster of a day today at Ellenbrook Speedway
We showed some great speed early and had the car moving forward all day, but unfortunately it just didn’t come together when it counted most.
Heat 1: Started P4, got shuffled back to P6 early before Aaron found his groove and charged back through to finish P2.
Heat 2: Started P3 and was right in the fight with the leading pack in a great battle, but a small mistake on the final lap dropped us back to P6.
Heat 3: Started P6 and again showed strong pace moving forward through the field. Unfortunately, while trying to work past a slower car, Aaron pushed a little too hard and spun, sending us to the rear for the restart. Still managed to claw back a couple of spots before the finish.
That left us starting P7 in the feature. Aaron got away well, but after only a few laps we had to pull infield with the engine not sounding quite right.
One of the highlights of the day was the Ladies/Mechanics race where we got to put Zane from Dreamstyle Concrete — our major sponsor — behind the wheel for a few laps. Awesome to see him out there having a crack and being part of the action!
After such a promising start to the day, it definitely went downhill from there, but the speed is there and we’ll regroup, fix the issues and come back stronger next time. A bit of footage from Aaron's heat 2 battle with the leaders
