On June 9th, we held our 58th Annual General Meeting to lock in our leadership and strategy for the upcoming season.

Here are the key takeaways:

📈 Club Strategy: The members voted to focus on upgrading our Timber Ridge facilities, and building toward Bulleen Park 2027. We are also prioritizing the return of our Junior programme and initiating a Women's team!

👥 New Committee Cap: To keep things agile, the main committee will be capped at under 10 members, utilizing volunteer sub-committees for major projects.

🎖️LIFE MEMBERSHIP🎖️

Andrew Pana was a much loved member of Yarraleen. A proud father to Kristian and Terry, both of whom have played important roles in our club’s history, particularly through our junior program. Andrew was instrumental in helping guide young players through the ranks, always encouraging, always supporting and always giving his time to help others improve and feel part of the club. As a senior player, Andrew was someone everyone wanted to play alongside. A true jack of all trades, he gave his all on the field every time he pulled on the Yarraleen colours, contributing wherever the team needed him and setting a great example for those around him.

He was also a familiar face around the clubrooms, especially behind the barbecue. Alongside Nesh and Rob, Andrew played a big part in creating that welcoming and social atmosphere we all value so highly. Those moments, simple as they might seem, are the backbone of what makes a club like ours special.

More than anything, Andrew was a genuinely great person. The kind of person you enjoyed having a chat with, the kind of person who made people feel welcome and the kind of person who gave more to the club than he ever took from it.

Andrew will always be part of our club’s story and we are honoured to award him life membership. We are incredibly sad to see him go, but his impact will not be forgotten. He lives on through his family, through the players he helped guide and through the culture he helped build here at Yarraleen. And as such, we have renamed the best clubman award to the “Andrew Panagiotou Best Clubman Award”.

A fitting touch for such a great man like Andrew. RIP ❤️💛

“The Yarraleen community is mourning the loss of one of its founding members, Gerry Faulkner. Gerry was instrumental in building the proud club we see today. On the field he played close to 100 games, taking 129 wickets and scoring nearly 2000 runs.

His son Nick, known to many around the club as SOG (Son of Gerry), carried on Gerry’s legacy as both a committed player and a valued administrator.

Our thoughts are with Nicko, Brenda and the entire Faulkner family at this sad time.

RIP Gerry.”

We are incredibly proud of our 3rd XI for charging their way into the BIG DANCE this Saturday! What a season, what a team 👏

The whole club is right behind you, now it’s time to show it. Get down to Hartwell Sports Ground tomorrow at 1pm and cheer the boys on as they chase premiership glory!

Let’s pack the boundary and make some noise.
