As I move swiftly towards my 79th birthday, I thought I’d demonstrate the sort of practice I do these days.
I don’t need the strength of lots of standing poses any more - I walk several km each day with my dog, and anyway, a dodgy knee makes some of them difficult.

But I do need hip rotation, abdominal and arm strength, and inner thigh stretches. Plus upper back work.

The sequence varies a bit but these are some of my favorites.

The last place on our One Mile Beach retreat has been filled. What a lovely group of yogis and yoginis.

If you missed out, please email me to be placed on my wait-list, in case last-minute spots open up.

And if you don't get to this one, there will be an 'at home' retreat in Buahdelah on the Mid North Coast of NSW, on February 2027. More details to come.

One place left, in a private room with king bed, in a cosy cottage nestled in gorgeous gardens.

As a yoga practitioner or teacher, do you like to have alignment cues for your asana practice?
Do you wish you HAD alignment cues for your practice?

Are you interested in how non-dual yoga philosophy can be incorporated into postural yoga, to shift your practice?

Would you like to practice with others who are curious about their practices, accepting and welcoming?

If you said ‘yes’ to any of these questions, this yoga retreat is for you.

Four classes from Friday afternoon to Sunday lunchtime, two of them workshop-style, to give us time to investigate, explore and open up to a deeper practice.

We will be close to some fabulous beaches, and even though it’s not swimming season, it IS for the whales who are migrating up the coast in September.

There will be ample time on Saturday afternoon to walk the beaches or even hire a boat to see these awe-inspiring giants of the sea.

Come and join us. It's an easy trip up from Sydney.

Only ten days left for the Early Bird investment - and just one private room left.

Yoga retreats are special; a chance to step away from daily life, to relax, unwind, and to refine your yoga asana practices with a special focus on alignment - both outer and inner.

You'll get to meet lovely people, eat delicious food that you don't have to cook, and spend your free time in your own way - walking on the nearby beaches, relaxing in the retreat's beautiful gardens, having a facial or a massage, or perhaps going out on a whale-watching boat tour.

I've been teaching for a long time - almost 40 years - and run numerous retreats over that time. You'll be well looked after.

All the details and booking link are here: https://unityyoga.com.au/events/

Yes - just one place left, in a private space with king bed.

If you like alignment-based yoga asana; if you like relaxing to yoga nidra and sound bath; if you like walks on wonderful beaches, whale watching, having a massage, fascial or body alignment; if you like eating really good food, then this retreat is for you.

I've been running retreats for years, teaching nearly 40 years and studying yoga philosophy for 25 years. I bring all of this experience into retreats, together with a sense of fun and lightheartedness.

Is this last place for you?

If so, go to https://unityyoga.com.au/events/ and book yourself in. Or email me, [email protected].

Early bird finishes at the end of July.

A couple of weeks ago I drove down to the Oasis retreat centre again for another look, and to show the caterer the kitchen facilities.

It’s so lovely. We went over to Birubi beach too, as it was a perfect afternoon, and spotted the camel riders out on the sand dunes.

What a gorgeous place to retreat to. The cabins are so beautifully appointed, with air conditioning and fans, kitchen and little sitting area, and there’s a maximum of three people in each cabin.

There’s a wellness centre too, and opportunities for massage, facials, body work and an infra red sauna in our free time.

But it’s the grounds and the yoga room I love. Practicing on the deck will be weather dependent of course, but that would be pretty special too as it’s strung with little lights in the evenings.

The retreat is one person short of full. There’s a private room left with king bed - is it yours?

September 11-13, One Mile, Port Stephens NSW.
