NLSC is sending a huge congratulations to all our swimmers who competed in their school swimming carnivals.
For the first timers – the excitement, nerves, sometimes tears! Once completing the first race the, “I can do it” attitude is outstanding.
For the experienced – times were improved from last year, progressing to the next levels and beyond. Be proud of yourselves and of your achievements. They certainly don’t go unnoticed.
From your teachers – we are so incredibly proud of you. You turn up for your lessons weekly, you are improving weekly, your strong skills are certainly developing. Your excitement when entering our facility and you see your teacher, shows the value of our program and the dedication we are providing you.
For our parents – a huge thank you for your investment in allowing us to develop your most precious children. We are so proud to be part of your village developing strong, confident and educated humans.
From the owner, our program is strong and being on deck watching and supporting our young students, really emphasises that knowledge, technique and efficiency wins over poor, floundering technique. Habits are hard to change, we have spent countless hours changing and developing habits for our students – no words can describe how proud we are of our program. The proof is in – “our swimmers”.
Swimming skills cannot be gained during a block of swimming every now and then. Like school education, swimming education is ongoing and year-round. We live surrounded by water – unpredictable water environments. Swimming lessons do save lives!
At Northlakes Swim Centre in Budgewoi, we are providing water safety skills which lead into strong swimming skills. Our program has been thoroughly designed on stroke development with techniques not only for swimming efficiency, we also take a holistic approach to ensure we are looking after growing, developing humans.
A huge thank you to our local schools for running the swimming carnivals. There is a lot of planning that takes place to run the event. It’s also a day the children are not in the classroom “formal learning”. The learning objectives from a swimming carnival: participation, team building, gaining points for your house, gaining points for your school swimming in zone and above, building self-confidence, resilience, pride and so much more!
Let’s work together as a broader community to educate our children in not only a skill for life, a life saving skill, but to see more children developing the valuable skills of joining in and participating in a fabulous day of FUN. Swimming lessons are not seasonal, and during winter – we are the warmest place to be.
