The reason all our lessons are 20 minutes long...........

“Why are your classes only 20 minutes?”

It’s a question we hear often, and the answer is simple: 20 minutes is the ideal window to keep a child engaged, focused and learning effectively!

Back in 1973, when the very first Shapland Swim School opened in Clontarf, our classes ran for 30 minutes with 4–6 children. But we quickly noticed something: around the 20-minute mark, focus began to fade.

So, we made a change.
Shorter classes. Smaller groups.
Just 20 minutes, with a maximum of 3 children per class.

The result?
Happier children. Greater progress. Better learning.

It’s a model that’s worked for over 50 years and it’s still going strong today!

You can now have a guided tour of the beautiful Mini Tails Sanctuary and meet all their beautiful, cherished rescue animals. Such a stunning space, and a great way to support a very worthy local charity.
