🚨 Player of the Match! 🚨

This weeks Domino's player of the match is John Walker - taking an extraordinary 5 wickets for just 3 runs off his 4 overs getting the Magpies over the line in a close game against Swansea. Well done John !

The round 5 double header last Saturday saw mixed results for our boys.

In the first game vs Levendale the boys were all bowled out for 58 runs with Lochie Emmerton top scoring with 18.

Levendale comfortably chased the runs down with 7 wickets to spare. 1 wicket each for Lochie Emmerton, Bryce Alomes and Harvey Alomes.

The second game of the day vs Runnymede came down to the wire with Buckland scoring 112 for the loss of 5 wickets. Top scorers were Bryce Alomes with 62 and Harvey Alomes 28 no.

Runnymede looked like chasing down the runs falling just 9 short of victory.
Bowling performances for the day were
Dean Birch 3/18 (4)
Harvey Alomes 2/13 (4)
Lochie Emmerton 2/14 (4)
Bryce Alomes 3/15 (2.4)

Today the Maggie’s play Swansea at Dodges Ferry @ 2.15pm.

T20 Round 3 was played against Orford Oysters on Saturday 2 nd November.

The boys batted first making 7/87 after 20 overs. Top scorers were Corey Maher making 23 and Tom Alomes 18.

Orford chased down the runs finishing with 2/88. One wicket each to Harvey Alomes and Lochie Emmerton.

Round 4 was played at Swansea on Saturday the 9th against Triabunna.

The boys batted out their 20 overs making 4 /181. Tom Alomes making 68 and Harvey Alomes 55no.

In reply Triabunna made 5/152 with one wicket each for Jack Turvey and Harvey Alomes from their 4 overs with Bryce Alomes taking 3/12 from his 4 overs.

This weekend sees a double header at Buckland with the Magpies taking on Levendale at 11am and then Runnymede at 2.15pm. Get along and support the boys. Canteen and bar operating.

This Saturday saw round 2 of the T20 fixture with the boys taking on the Levendale Bushrangers.
Levendale batted first posting a score of 8 /98. The Magpie boys unfortunately fell short, all out for 72.

Best performances for the day were:

Micky (cricket) Leary 18

John (Whiskey) Walker 4/22
Lachie Emmerton 2/21

Next week’s game versus Orford at 11am at Orford.

On Saturday, the Magpies faced off against the Runnymede Bulls in the season's first T20 match. Buckland won the toss and chose to bat first, finishing with a respectable total of 6/110. In response, the Bulls struggled in their chase, managing to score 75 runs before the 20 overs concluded. The Magpies secured a solid victory by 35 runs.

This Saturday the Magpies take on Dodges Ferry in what is the last home game for the year.
We are also having a Ladies Day for all the lovely women around our community and our beloved club. We would like to invite any women that would be interested in a day watching the cricket with wine and cheese boards supplied.
Please come along and support the Magpies and our lovely women this weekend.

Yesterday the Magpies took on Triabunna at Buckland. After winning the toss and electing to bat first we got off to a rocky start losing a few early wickets, luckily Bryce Alomes could find the middle making a fine 74 runs and a few boys building partnerships around him finshing with a total of 175

Triabunna started steady but got going in the late overs but with some good fielding and tight bowling we were able to bowl them out for 139 In the 36th Over.
