🏁 SHINJU — NIGHT 1 RECAP 🏁
Heat 1 — P1 🥇
Heat 2 — DNF 💥
Night 1 certainly didn’t go exactly to plan.
After starting P2 in Heat 2, we got underway racing hard for the lead in an incredible 3-way battle between myself, Dylan and Rod.
After making a pass on Rod, we set our sights on chasing down Dylan. We had an awesome start to the race, but unfortunately, we got a little crossed up and ran out of luck.
We caught a rut that had formed in Turn 4, which sent us shiny side down. 😬
On first inspection, with the damage to the engine intake system and front-end arms, I honestly thought our weekend — and possibly our season — was done.
But that’s where this team showed what M17 Racing is all about. ❤️
Back in the pits, the entire team and family were there waiting to make sure I was okay and check over the car. While I took a quick moment to process what had happened, the M17 team and our close family were already straight into action, pulling the car apart and rebuilding it to get us back out for the next heat.
What happened next was nothing short of incredible.
A massive shoutout and thank you to everyone who jumped in and helped straighten the car back out and get it ready to rip again. Without the dedication and hard work of everyone involved, we would have been sitting on the sidelines for the rest of the weekend.
