Thanks to all the different departments Parks and Wildlife Kimberley, Shire of Broome Rangers, West Coast Water Safety Lifeguards for keeping Cable Beach safe this morning when the croc 🐊 cruised through. Once the beach closed I thought it was going to be a quiet day with a 24 hour beach closure.

But… thankfully the croc was captured by Parks & Wildlife Service Kimberley and relocated to Croc Park 🐊🎉 It was certainly a big croc!! Thanks for photos PY. This Allowed Cable Beach to be re-opened by 11am🎉⛱️Happy Days😊⛱️🙏

On a separate note… We have just received our new Beach Hut shirts. They are really cool and will be for sale this week. Thanks Eva for modelling our new shirts 🖤💙❤️🧡

🐊 Croc was sighted at Gantheame at 12.30ish and Cable Beach was closed this afternoon, meaning no one could swim or surf.A lot of customer stayed on to relax on the beach ⛱️😊

Tomorrow (Thursday 21/8) Beach Hut will open at 9am, I am anticipating Cable Beach will re open by 12.30pm( 24hours after initial sighting) unless the croc is sighted again.

West Coast Water SafetyLifeguards on Patrol on Cable Beach from 9am and will keep us updated 👍

Just like to thank you Asumi for her hardwork, dedication and commitment during your time with us. You have been a wonderful part of the team, always bringing your good humour, amazing customer service and that big smile to work every day 😄⛱️

Now it’s time for you to go on your big Adventure up the Gibb River Road. We wish you a wonderful journey ahead and best wishes for the rest of your travels around Australia🎉

On a separate note, just want to thank all our wonderful customers. Beach Hut continue to be very busy, which I am so grateful for, but quite often lately we have sold out of hire equipment, this usually only happens for a short spell between 10.30-12 ish. We can usually get customers what they want within 15minutes… if willing to wait 🙏 It’s a busy week with the races on too. I thank you for your support and understanding during these busy times😊⛱️

They said this season would be quiet!!!
Fortunately not on Cable Beach…Very busy school holidays🎉⛱️ and we are so grateful 🙏

Beach Hut has entered the 21st century and succumbed to the Starlinky internet…
We needed solid internet on the beach for EFTPOS payments and this is how we are finally have it ✅
All customers are welcome to tap into our StarLink internet, check in with us for our password, if you are lucky enough to work remotely… bring your work to the best office in the world ⛱️

Today we had not 1 but 3 Willy-Willy’s ( beach tornadoes) smashed straight through our umbrellas. (All our umbrellas are roped & pegged to keep it as safe as we can) Fortunately no one hurt but the Willy-willys that have come through lately have been between 2-3pm and really big. All forming to the south east sand dunes… please stay alert.

🩷Happy Mothers Day🩷 to all the amazing Mums today and our thoughts are with those who are missing their Mums or doing it pretty tough today 🩷💙

Our Beach Hut Gift Basket was drawn at midday and won by Local Mum Tara at B3 umbrella⛱️

We are excited to have Cody back for the 2026 season and thanks to Cody and Eva for your hard work today 🙏⛱️

Thanks also to Broome Netball Association for their hard work organising Nets on the Beach today.

Beach Hut will be CLOSED tomorrow Sunday 19/04/26 and Monday 20/04/26 due to the massive 10.3m tides 🌊

With tides this high, there’s simply no room left on the beach for us to operate safely at high tide. Previous trials of morning and afternoon sessions were not viable and twice the amount of physical work.
There’s no stopping or negotiating with a 10.3m tide… we gave it a good try, but the ocean wins 😊💦

If you do come for a swim or surf at Cable Beach around high tide be very careful, waves will be dumping directly onto the stairs, ramp and sand dunes. Stay safe and check with the lifeguards if not sure, or wait until the tide recedes 😊

Beach Hut will be back in action on Tuesday 21/04/26⛱️ Thanks so much for your support over Easter and the school holidays and for your patience and understanding over the next few days 🙏⛱️

Wow what a sensational start to the 2026 season 🎉😊⛱️Easter weekend was really busy, it was awesome to see all our locals and so many kids down to support us. Lots of long term regulars returned and the cruise shippers even came down to hire (we don’t normally get a lot of cruisers) so it was great that there was enough time for the cruisers to come down relax and enjoy our beautiful beach.

So good to feel some dry season weather, the 10 m spring tides made for a few challenges, but everyone was super understanding and patient and my staff(my daughters) Eva & Stella were troopers and got their steps up 😊⛱️

We are SO excited for the launch of the 2026 Beach Hut Season! ⛱️☀️🌊

Our start date is Friday 3rd April(weather permitting)🤞

With big tides to start 9.9m @ 11.26am, you’ll find us set up high and to the south of the Surf Club ramp ⛱️

We’ve got lots of new beach hire gear ready, umbrellas, boogie boards & surfboards 🏄🏽‍♂️ — and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to beautiful Cable Beach ⛱️🌊

Despite some uncertainty this year, we’re feeling hopeful and committed to doing what we do best, creating a beautiful, relaxing and comfortable beach experience for locals, and we warmly welcoming visitors who make the journey to enjoy Broome and our stunning beach.

As always, we begin the season honouring Mr Cable Beach… Daryl “Umbrella Man” Roberson.
As we begin this new season, we do so with gratitude, pride and excitement, continuing the spirit and passion that Daryl brought to the beach every day. We look forward to seeing you all back to the Beach Hut, where Daryl’s spirit lives on. A place to relax, connect and enjoy the very best of Cable Beach.

A huge Thank you from the Beach Hut 🙏⛱️

What a season!!
It’s been another big one… lots of challenges, big tides, annoying jellyfish and strong winds!!
A slow start to our season, as the main stairs onto the beach didn’t open until June, but we made it through thanks to our amazing Beach Hut crew, our supportive customers who we truely appreciate and our incredible community.

⛱️ The Beach Hut staff this year were absolutely sensational.
Laura, Luna, Lea, Zoe & Eva and my back up team Jesse & Stella 🥰
I am forever grateful for their hard work, dedication, reliability, humour and ongoing support of me and our small business. I could not have done this without you all 🙏🥰

The outpouring of support we received when we objected to the Shires decision to not extend Beach Hut’s trading licence term was truely overwhelming.
Your voices and support ensured our deputation to Council was heard. The Councillors decision to extend Beach Huts trading licence was a fantastic outcome and we could not have achieved that without everyone’s encouragement and support of what we do.

Some days are way harder than others- we are still grieving Daryl and the massive piece of our lives that is always missing 💔

but every time I drive over the ramp onto Cable Beach, I am reminded of why I continue Daryl & Jero’s legacy.
It’s not just about our business providing a beneficial service of shade, comfort and recreation, it’s also about the memories made, family holidays, friendships, the stories shared, the enjoyment that people feel on this beautiful, unique and very special beach.

I feel lucky to be part of something that brings so much happiness, joy and great memories on Cable Beach and am so proud to continue to share Daryl & Jero’s story and to also hear the many stories and memories from those that knew them 💙💙

I have put in a request to Shire to place a memorial plaque for Daryl, at a place yet to be determined at Cable Beach.
Currently a Shire policy is being drafted in relation to memorial plaques and installations, so pending the completion of the policy I will go through the application process. I will keep everyone up to date.

And as Daryl always said as his good bye for the season.

⛱️This will be Beach Huts last weekend of hiring on Cable Beach for 2025⛱️

Please come on down and have last hires, relaxing in the shade or
for a surf or boogie board with the kids…and also for us to say a massive thank you for your support and goodbye, aloha, sayonara, au revoir for the 2025 season.

Conditions for the weekend look good, mostly sunny with a bit of patchy cloud, with a breezy seabreeze.
High tide is the afternoon but the tides are now dropping.
