It’s race day eve! 🙌 Round 7 of the Broken Hill Karting Club Championship is happening TOMORROW – Sunday, 20 September! 🏎️💨

⏰ Gates open from 7:00am
👀 FREE entry for spectators
🍔 Canteen open – plenty of food, cold drinks & snacks available
💳 EFTPOS available
🚻 Toilet facilities available
🏁 Racing action throughout the day!

The weather is warming up, the karts are ready and we’re looking forward to another great day at the track. Bring the family, bring some chairs, grab something from the canteen and come enjoy some local karting action! 💛🖤

💛 A HUGE THANK YOU TO COMMONWEALTH BANK BROKEN HILL! 💛

We were lucky enough to receive two brand-new blowers, generously donated to the club by the Commonwealth Bank Broken Hill Branch! 🙌

These will be a fantastic addition to our track equipment and will help enormously with keeping our in-grid and out-grid areas clean and ready to go on race days. 🏁

We are incredibly fortunate to have local businesses and organisations continuing to get behind our club. It means so much to have the support of our local Commonwealth Bank branch and to have them recognise just how far Broken Hill Kart Club has come over the past two years. ❤️

Our club continues to grow and improve, and donations like this make a genuine difference to our volunteers and help us keep making our facilities better for our members, drivers and visitors.

❤️🏁 A VERY SPECIAL RECOGNITION – SHARON HOCKING 🏁❤️

At tonight’s AGM, we had the opportunity to recognise someone who has played an incredibly important part in the story of the Broken Hill Kart Club – Sharon Hocking.

While we had hoped to recognise Sharon with a Life Membership, under our constitution a Life Membership requires 10 years of service. Although Sharon hasn’t quite reached that milestone, we certainly weren’t going to let that stop us from recognising the enormous contribution she has made to our club.

Sharon was presented with a special gift as a small token of appreciation for the countless hours, hard work, determination and passion she has poured into BHKC. ❤️

Sharon was instrumental in getting this club up and running and helping turn an idea into the club we are so proud to have today. So much of what our members and families now get to enjoy was made possible because people like Sharon were willing to put in the work behind the scenes when the club was getting started.

From the early days, through all the challenges that come with establishing and growing a kart club, Sharon has given so much of her time and energy to help get BHKC to where it is today.

Tracks, facilities, race meetings and clubs don’t simply happen. They are built by people who volunteer their time, keep showing up, solve problems, rally people together and believe in what they are trying to create.

Sharon has been one of those people.

While tonight’s gift could never truly represent the amount of time and effort Sharon has given, we hope it serves as a reminder of just how appreciated she is and how significant her contribution has been.

On behalf of the Broken Hill Kart Club committee, members, racers and families — thank you, Sharon. ❤️

Thank you for helping get this club started.
Thank you for the hours nobody saw.
Thank you for sticking with it through the hard parts.
And thank you for helping build the club that so many of us now get to call home.

Your contribution will always be a part of the history of BHKC. 🏁❤️

Unfortunately, at this stage we still don’t have anyone available to run our canteen for Round 7 – Sunday, 20 September.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence thinking about putting your hand up, please reach out! 🙏🏼 Even if you’re unsure about what’s involved, have a chat with us, there will be plenty of people around to help and support you throughout the day.

Our canteen is such an important part of our race meetings, and we know our hungry drivers, families and spectators would VERY much appreciate someone stepping up! 😂🍔🍟

🎉🏆 WE’RE FINALISTS!!! 🏆🎉

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Broken Hill Kart Club has been named a FINALIST in the Far West Business Awards! ❤️🏁

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to nominate our little club. To know that the work being put in behind the scenes is being noticed and appreciated by our community means more than we can say.

Our club is run by volunteers who give up their time, weekends and plenty of hours behind the scenes to keep our club moving forward. From our committee and officials to our canteen helpers, working bee crews, members, families, sponsors and supporters, this recognition belongs to all of you.

We might be a little kart club out in the Far West, but we are incredibly proud of the community we have built and how far we have come. ❤️
