The Jacana Cricket Club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lionel Fernando, a beloved coach, mentor, and respected figure whose impact continues to shape the character of our club.

A truly global cricket citizen, Lionel represented Ceylon in the pre-Test era and enjoyed a distinguished career in England and Australia, bringing an invaluable international perspective to Jacana.
The entire Jacana Cricket Club community extends our sincerest condolences to the Fernando family and all those mourning this significant loss. He will be deeply missed, but his coaching legacy lives on in every player who learned the finer points of the game under his expert guidance.

It is with heavy hearts that the Jacana Cricket Club announces the passing of Life Member, Peter Blizzard.
Peter was the true definition of a clubman. On the field, he was a fierce and respected competitor. Off the field, his impact was even greater. Whether he was serving on the committee, volunteering his time, Peter’s dedication was tireless.
His contribution to the fabric of our club was immense. For decades, Peter was a pillar of strength, a friendly face at the bar, and a man who simply got things done for the love of the game and his community.
A Legacy That Lives On

* Club Leader: A long-standing committee member who helped shape our future.
* True Volunteer: Always the first to arrive and the last to leave.
Peter’s presence at the ground will be deeply missed, but his legacy will be felt every time we take the field. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the Blizzard family and all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.

Hanni Harb Grand Final: A Heartbreaking Finish to a Brilliant Season 🏏
Cricket can be a cruel game sometimes. After a day of intense pressure and momentum swings, the Hanni Harb Shield Grand Final has come to a close with Jacana falling just short of the target.
Chasing 104, the boys fought for every single run, taking the game deep into the final overs. We showed incredible grit to reach 96, but the final wickets fell just 8 runs shy of glory. It’s a tough pill to swallow to get that close to the summit, but the pride we feel for this team couldn't be higher.
