Broadmeadows Basketball

Broadmeadows Basketball Home to over 3,500 people playing the great game of basketball in the City of Hume.

The BBA is home to a Junior Domestic competition that features 10 local clubs, as well as conducting Senior Domestic competition on Monday and Wednesday nights. During the week, their are several after school programs such as Aussie Hoops and Skill Sessions that enable school-aged children to learn and develop their game. Our Broadmeadows Broncos are the Junior Representative arm of our organisati

on, with teams that compete throughout the State in both the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL). The Hume City Broncos are the Senior Representative program, who participate in the Big V competition during the Winter months. The Senior Women have been the most successful team ever, winning 6 titles (and making 7 grand finals in the last 10 years).

A new chapter for Victorian basketball 💙

After 25 years of Big V, from the 2027 season the competition will become the Victorian Basketball League (VBL).

For a quarter of a century, Big V has played a huge role in senior representative basketball across Victoria, creating opportunities for generations of players, coaches, officials and volunteers, while building rivalries and memories within communities across the state.

The move to VBL carries that history forward with a new identity, while creating a stronger connection across the Victorian basketball pathway from VJBL to VBL and NBL1 South.

The name and look may be changing, but the clubs, rivalries, passion and people at the heart of the competition remain.

25 years of Big V behind us. A new era of VBL ahead.

Coach of the Year 🏆

After guiding our Youth Women to an 18-4 record, the minor premiership and a home Grand Final, Brad Keighran has been named the 2026 Youth League One Women Coach of the Year.

A fitting recognition after an incredible season for Brad and the group, and another chapter in his long-standing contribution to the Broncos and our female program.

This one should look pretty good next to your President’s Award. Congratulations Brad, very well deserved 🏆💙

The league’s best 🏆

After an outstanding year, Maddie has been crowned the 2026 Youth League One Women MVP and named in the All-Star Five at the Big V Awards Night over the weekend.

Maddie led the league in scoring at 25.05 points per game, delivering for our Youth Women throughout an unforgettable 2026 season.

Five Grand Final tickets booked 🎟️💙

Our 12.2 Boys and 14.2 Girls secured their spots on Friday night, joining the 14.1 Girls, 14.2 Boys and 16.1 Girls in this week’s Grand Finals.

The 14.1 Boys also move one step closer, progressing through to the Preliminary Final.
