🏌️‍♂️❄️ 2026 WINTER CLASSIC – LEADERBOARD UPDATE ❄️🏌️‍♀️

After two rounds of the 2026 Winter Classic, the competition is heating up with some outstanding scoring across the field.

Tom Richards has opened up a commanding lead at the top of the leaderboard with an impressive 72 points, backing up a strong opening round with another 36-point performance to take a 12-point advantage into the final round.

Amanda Rees sits in second place on 60 points after producing two consistent rounds of 30 points, while Cory Stephens rounds out the top three on 57 points and remains well within striking distance.

Brian McDowell (55 points) and Ian Parry (54 points) complete the top five, both putting themselves in contention with excellent second-round performances. Robert McDonald also made a significant move up the leaderboard with a superb 34-point second round to sit sixth on 52 points.

Anthony Schultz continues to hold a strong position in seventh on 49 points, while Phillip Taylor (42 points), Ken Lappin (40 points) and Brian Inness (39 points) round out the top ten.

The battle for the minor placings is incredibly tight, with Nathan Goodwin, Anne Collier and Troy Ford all tied on 35 points. Richard Kelly sits just one point further back on 34, while Lindsay Beelson occupies 15th position on 33 points.

With one round remaining, Tom Richards holds a handy lead, but there are plenty of players capable of producing a big final-round score and making a late charge up the leaderboard.

❄️ Winter Classic Round 2 Results ❄️

We had 41 golfers out on the course today for our round 2 stroke event of the winter classic

Well done to Tom Richards who’s gone back to back with another win

Next week it’s all to play for, will someone be able to stop Tom from a clean sweep or will he power away for the win?

Don’t forget Saturday is our Hendo Memorial 2 person Ambrose event, still plenty of spots available

With the conclusion of the 2026 pennant season, it’s time to reflect on what was a strong campaign across all divisions, with several players producing outstanding individual performances.

Leading the way was Jarrod Triggs, who topped the overall standings with an impressive record of 5 wins from 6 matches. Darren Altham was equally dominant, producing 5 wins from 5 matches.

Aaron Altham, Aaron Frost and Shane Culpin were also major contributors, each recording 4 wins.

Special mention should also go to Jack Connell and Shaun Scales, who remained undefeated throughout the season, each winning all 3 of their appearances.

We also had 8 other players record 3 wins for the season for a positive or neutral win / loss record.

Jason Richards recorded the largest win for the season with an 8&7 domination in round 5.

Across the club, players battled hard every week, and the season showcased great depth, commitment, and team spirit from everyone who represented Broadford Golf Club in 2026.

Pennant final (replay)

The finals have all been completed today at Lancefield GC, with 4 handicap divisions facing off under sunny skies, a drastic change from the washed out final from early May.

Restricted 1 were the first of our three finals teams competing today. Playing against the top side Mt Macedon, the games were all close and unfortunately R1 lost 3 to 2.

Massive shout out to Natasha on captaining the side and well done on a great season by all!

Restricted 2 followed R1 around Lancefield GC playing against Avenel. Another set of close matches saw them narrowly get pipped 3 to 2, with Hoggy having a chance to secure the win with the match tied at 2 all, unfortunately his opponent made a solid par on the 19th to give Avenel the flag.

Handicap Div 1 started on the back 9 at LGC, taking on local rivals Kilmore. All of the matches were close for the entire round, with H1 taking home the win 4 to 1 and winning back to back pennant flags! Well done on a great season and congratulations Team Culpin!

The 2026 Hendo Memorial Two-Person Ambrose

Join us for the 25th Hendo Memorial, marking 25 years since Hendo’s passing. This special perpetual event has become one of the club’s most cherished traditions, bringing members and guests together to celebrate Hendo’s legacy and enjoy a fantastic day of golf, friendship, and community.
