A weekend of mixed results on the court & field, but we couldn’t be prouder of the way our players represented our club during the Spirit of Football & Netball Round.

Thank you to everyone who pulled on the Roo colours from Friday through to Sunday, showing sportsmanship, teamwork and respect every step of the way.

Congratulations again to our milestone players, Jimmy, James and Tyler, on reaching 50 games! A fantastic achievement!

A special thank you to our senior footballers for coming along and helping out in the junior department throughout the weekend. It’s great to see the connection between our senior and junior players continuing to grow and strengthen across the clubs. 🦘

Enjoy training this week and we’ll see everyone back again next weekend. 🦘💙

🏅 Spirit Round 🏅

This weekend’s Spirit of Football and Netball Round celebrated the values that make junior sport so special, sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play.

At the conclusion of each match, players from the opposing team were recognised with a Spirit Medal for displaying these qualities throughout the game.

A huge congratulations to all of our medal recipients and to every player who represented our club with respect, encouragement and great team spirit. We are proud of the way you play the game and support those around you.

🏉🏐 JUNIOR FOOTBALL & NETBALL THIS WEEKEND 🏐🏉

Our junior weekend action kicks off tonight with a game at Kings Park, Seymour, before a huge Sunday of football and netball across the region.

All junior football teams will be playing at home on Sunday, while our netball teams are spread far and wide.

Good luck to all players, coaches, volunteers and families travelling near and far this weekend.

Drive safe, have fun, support your teammates, and most importantly, let’s show plenty of Roo Spirit wherever we go! 💙🦘

Congratulations to James on reaching his 50th game milestone, what an incredible achievement! 🫶🏽💙

Here is a message from James family…..
James started playing Junior footy for St Mary’s in 2022 he had four season with them. Even though they didn’t win many games he still loved playing with his team mates . James is a massive Hawks Fan loves watching them every week and has been in the Box Hill change rooms recently meeting some of the young up and coming players. He loves everything about Footy.

He has definitely loved his time this year at his new club Broadford. He is learning so much and his kicking has come a long way. With his determination and willingness to learn more skills I’m sure there will be more games to be played. Especially being surrounded by great team mates and coaches. James definitely feels at Home at Broadford Footy Club. James’ family would like to take this opportunity as well to thank everyone for being so welcoming. Happy 50th James.

It was fantastic to see our Under 13s blue and Under 15s netballers come together for a combined training session and match tonight.

Opportunities like this are about more than just netball. They help build skills, confidence, teamwork, and connections across our junior program. It was wonderful to see players encouraging one another, sharing their knowledge, and working together on and off the court.

By training together, our young athletes continue to develop not only their game sense and skills but also the strong club culture that makes our netball community so special.

Well done to all players for their effort, positivity, and support of one another. We can’t wait to see these friendships and skills continue to grow throughout the season!

Well done on being recognised for the values that make our club such a great place to play and be involved. Keep up the fantastic work!

🏉 Under 12s - Eli Caldwell.

Congratulations to our Spirit of Football recipient, Eli.

Eli has had a fantastic season thus far.
His constant run, and fantastic use of the football is admirable.
Eli is always in and around the contest, and he consistently provides so much drive from our midfield into our forward line.
Today he demonstrated all of these key qualities of his game, as he lead from the front in a commanding performance to help our Roo’s to a dominating win.

Keep up the great work mate, and congratulations again

This week’s Team Spirit Award winner is Milla!

Milla always comes to training and game day with a smile. Her endless energy, dedication to playing a full game in Centre, and positive attitude right through to the final whistle make her a fantastic teammate.

I am incredibly proud of the way Milla encourages and supports all of her teammates, always bringing enthusiasm and team spirit to every game and training session.

Well done, Milla, a very deserving recipient of this Round’s Team Spirit Award! 👏💙🏐
