I meditate.
I practice mindfulness.
I studied the Law of Attraction.
I talk about protecting my peace…
But let me tell you something…
I’m also the mom who sometimes stands in the middle of the house and SCREAMS:
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU?!” 😂
Because apparently, my kids have a special ability to hear me only after I’ve completely lost my mind.
I can calmly say it once…
twice…
three times…
Nothing.
Then suddenly I turn into a psycho…
AND EVERYONE HEARS ME. 😂
And afterwards I’m standing there thinking…
“Okay… clearly that wasn’t the mindful response I was looking for.” 🤦♀️
But this is real motherhood.
I can meditate and still get overwhelmed.
I can practice mindfulness and still lose my patience.
I can know all the right things to do… and sometimes completely forget them in the heat of the moment.
For me, mindfulness isn’t about becoming this perfectly calm person who never gets angry.
It’s about noticing when I’ve gone too far, taking a breath, resetting, apologising when I need to…
and trying again.
Because our kids don’t need a perfect mom.
They need a mom who keeps trying.
So if you’ve ever gone from:
“Sweetheart, please listen to Mommy…”
to
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS?!”
within 30 seconds…
Welcome to the club. 😂❤️
Please tell me I’m not the only one!
