Kansai Karate Academy was founded by Shihan Stephen Kelly in Queensland in 1993 and is part of the worldwide Sh*to-ryu Shukokai World Karate Union. Parents… this one’s for YOU! 👊

Our Parents to Red Belt Challenge is officially kicking off, and registration week starts TODAY!

Have you ever watched your child train and thought, “I’d love to give it a go too”?

Now’s your chance! 🙌

For the challenge, parents will have the opportunity to train alongside their kids, learn karate and work towards their very own Red Belt! 🔥

📅 Registration Week: 7–12 September
🥋 Challenge Starts: 14 September

Whether you’re completely new to karate or have never trained before, we’d love to have you on the mat!

KATA SEMINAR – SUPPORTING ONE OF OUR OWN ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to share that one of our students from our Gold Coast dojo has been selected to represent Australia at the World Championships! 🌏🥋

To help support Kento on his journey, we’ll be holding a Kata Seminar on Saturday 19 September at Upper Coomera Dojo, taught by Sensei Junko and Kento.

The seminar will cover:

🥋 Session 1: Heian Godan
🕐 12:30pm – 1:30pm

🥋 Session 2: Bassai Dai
🕑 2:00pm – 3:30pm

💰 $30 per person, per session

This is a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your kata, learn from experienced instructors and, at the same time, help support one of our own as they prepare to compete on the world stage.

If you’d simply like to come along, train hard, improve your kata and be part of a great afternoon, we’d love to see you there. ❤️

And for those who would like to do a little extra, we also have our $5 meat tray raffle running on the day, with the prize generously donated by Jack R’s family.

We’re getting behind our Kansai athletes Scarlett & Sophia, who have been selected to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Karate Championships in Scotland! 🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Join us this Saturday, 5th September during our gradings at the Kansai Karate Sumner Park Dojo for a bake sale and sausage sizzle!

Grab something delicious while you’re at the dojo and help support the girls on their Commonwealth journey. 💗

All funds raised will go directly towards supporting Scarlett & Sophia’s journey to the Commonwealth Championships.
