Warwick Pentathrun Day 2: 10km Ascent to Queen Mary Falls, & 1500m Road Race
Day 2 at the Warwick Pentathrun starts with usually a chilly and foggy morning for runners as they prepare to run up the mountain to Queen Mary Falls. You'll see the cool air kept gloves and coats on for our runners.
After a warm breakfast break at the top, and return trip to the town centre allowing just enough time to recover and dress in costume before the final 1500m road race.
Congratulations to everyone who ran one or all of the races. Trophies were awarded to those who ran all 5 distances, totalling 42.2km.
This weekend is so much about community spirit from club members. It was so good to see runners from our intraining running groups around Brisbane - running buddies and family.
An extra special opportunity was a moment for Bob Miller to share with everyone a tribute to Di Miller, his wife who recently passed away, and has always been present as a road-side cheery crowd supporter. A very special lady who will be missed at running events.
From our intraining community there were also some speedy successes with the following runners picking up age group wins.
Congratulations to:
Krystal Futter as 3rd female overall
Jon Dicks (1st AG)
John Whelan (1st AG)
Cath Turton (3rd AG )
Ethan Spencer ( AG podium)
A huge congratulations and thank you to Neil, Kerrie and their team of volunteers for putting on an extremely fun weekend of running.
If you haven't yet tried the Warwick Pentathrun, it is a must do event to add to your 2027 Running Calendar!!
