Summer racing is back at QCYC!

Sailing Chair Jack Morrison gives us a quick rundown on what’s coming up this September, starting this weekend with the Careel Worlds, followed by the 75th Bribie Cup on 12 September and the 51st Vintage Yacht Regatta from 18–20 September.

For spectators, book in for breakfast and watch the marina come to life as crews prepare to head out, or join us later in the afternoon for a drink at the bar as the boats return.

For sailors, entries are still open for the Bribie Cup and Vintage Yacht Regatta.

The Gaffers are back on the calendar!

The 51st Vintage Yacht Regatta has been rescheduled to 18–20 September 2026, with entries now reopened.

Already entered? Simply confirm you're racing on the new dates by emailing [email protected].

And why not make it two weekends of sailing? The 75th Bribie Cup is on the weekend before, Saturday 12 September 2026, and this year includes a Classic Division for the first time.

Sometimes the weather has other plans.

Due to the weather forecast, this weekend's 51st Vintage Yacht Regatta has been postponed.

We'll announce a new date for the Regatta as soon as it's confirmed.

The Club will still be open as usual this weekend, and we look forward to welcoming competitors, members and visitors for a meal or a drink by the marina.

Thank you to the competitors who were planning to join us this weekend. We look forward to welcoming the fleet back to QCYC soon.

The countdown is on. Just one week until the 51st Vintage Yacht Regatta.

In just seven days, classic and vintage yachts will once again fill Moreton Bay as competitors gather at Queensland Cruising Yacht Club for another memorable weekend on and off the water.

The Gaffers are back! The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club Vintage Yacht Regatta returns from 17 to 19 July, bringing together owners, crews and classic and vintage yachts for a weekend on Moreton Bay.

The countdown is on for the 50th Vintage Yacht Regatta, kicking off Saturday 19 July at QCYC.

Whether you're keen to race or simply enjoy being under sail, it’s shaping up to be a great weekend on the water. Saturday night will be a relaxed gathering at the Club, with live folk and sea shanty music from The Fo’c’sle, a rope splicing competition, and meals available for purchase.

The 2025 Queensland Cruising Yacht Club Vintage Yacht Regatta marks a special milestone. It’s been 50 years since the first event in 1976, when just six boats lined up on the start line.

Now one of the longest-running classic yacht events in the country, the Regatta brings together a wide mix of timber vessels. From restored dinghies to ocean-going ketches, and the skippers who keep them sailing.

Whether you’re on the water, watching from the shore, or joining us at the Club, it’s a great weekend to celebrate sailing history on Moreton Bay.

Thanks to Husk Farm Distillery for providing prizes and in-kind support for the event. Their products will also be available at the bar throughout the weekend.
