I had a moment the other day.

37 weeks pregnant.
Running a business.
A mammoth to-do list.
Falling behind on content.
Feeling overwhelmed by it all.

So I went and sat in my partner’s office and cried.

And in that moment, the person who loves me the most wanted to take the pain away. He wanted to make it easier for me. And honestly… I love him for that.

His advice was:
“Don’t do the thing. Take it easy. Rest. Start mat leave early.”

But the second he said it, I felt my whole body respond with:

“No.”

So I lovingly said:
“That’s not what I need. What I need is to pick myself up and go do the exact thing I’m overwhelmed about.”

And he looked at me and said:
“Okay. Go get it done.”

So I did.

And 60 minutes later I walked back into the house and he asked:

“How are you feeling?”

And my answer was:
“Amazing. So much better. I got it done.”

Sometimes the most loving people in our lives will encourage us to stop, quit, pull back or take the pressure off because they hate seeing us struggle.

But not every hard moment is a sign to retreat.

Sometimes the answer is moving through the resistance instead of surrendering to it.

Sometimes the people who love you most are not the people who will give you the advice you actually need in that moment.

Most people quit, stop or retreat when things feel hard.

But if you’re building something, you can’t operate like most people.

Otherwise you’ll create the results most people create.

And honestly? There is something powerful AF about proving to yourself that you can hold yourself through the overwhelm instead of collapsing inside it
