I needed something to help me feel alive again.
When Tash first walked through the doors at Elements, she was 37 and trying to piece her life back together after a painful breakup.
Life had become work, home, repeat.
She felt isolated. Her confidence had taken a hit. Her energy was low. And somewhere along the way, she felt like she’d lost a little bit of herself.
Tash had actually done pole in her early 20s, but injuries had forced her to stop. She missed that version of herself — the one who felt strong, confident and connected to her body.
Then one day, she drove past Elements.
Something sparked.
“I realised I needed a place that could help me feel alive again; somewhere positive, supportive and motivating.”
So she walked through our doors. 💜
And slowly, things began to change.
Tash started rebuilding her strength. She found muscles she never thought she’d get back (hello, back muscles! 💪). She became stronger through her core and more confident in the way her body moved.
But the biggest changes weren’t necessarily the physical ones.
“Elements has been a lifeline. It gave me motivation when I had none, purpose when everything felt chaotic, and a space where the weight of the day simply fades.”
She found people who celebrated the little wins.
People who cheered when someone finally nailed the move they’d been working on.
Instructors who genuinely wanted to see her progress.
And somewhere along the way, Elements stopped being somewhere Tash went to exercise.
It became her second home.
There have still been hard patches. Injuries have meant taking time out, and being unemployed for a few months made things financially difficult.
But Tash says Elements was the one thing she held onto.
“The studio gave me stability when everything else felt uncertain.”
Today, she describes herself very differently.
Before: isolated, heartbroken and disconnected from the confident person she used to be.
Now: grounded, strong and proud.
And perhaps our favourite thing Tash shared with us was this:
“I used to think my previous injuries and heartbreak had taken away my chance to feel strong again. Now I know strength can be rebuilt, rediscovered and expressed at any age.”
This is why Elements is about so much more than learning tricks.
Sometimes it’s your hour to forget everything happening outside those doors.
Sometimes it’s where you find your people.
And sometimes, without even realising it, it’s where you start finding yourself again. 💜
Thank you, Tash, for trusting us with your story and for letting us share it. We’re so glad you drove past that day… and even happier that you decided to walk through the doors. 🥰
