The power of our minds never ceases to amaze me. And the ability for hypnotic processes to allow us to overcome fears, phobias and anxieties is wild!

Claustrophobia - gone
Arachnophobia - gone
Performance anxiety - gone

There’s only one criteria to meet to upgrade your subconscious. You have to want the change.

From there, the possibilities are truly remarkable.

Ooh only a few days until my secret podcast drops! So excited to share it!

Beneath The Physique explains why our minds mess with us so much in prep and what we can do about it.

Because a calm mind = a calm body = a better physique and a better experience all round!

Comment ‘PODCAST’ and I’ll share it as soon as it’s live… oh and yes, it’s totally free.

I remember how stressed I was when I first came to live in Ubud. Details like food shopping and internet stressed me out (even though they were actually super straight forward).

It wasn’t even the what or how that was stressful.
It was not knowing the what or how.

Now, I just go and do what I need, no stress required, and it feels amazing!

Prep is the same. If you don’t know the what and how (first of all, are you ready for prep?), of course it’s stressful. But even knowing the plan can be stressful if you’ve never actually travelled that path before. It’s unfamiliar.

But once you’ve been there once, it gets so much easier.

I know prep will have its hard times. I welcome them!
But I won’t stress because there are hard times. It’s designed that way!

This one may sting a little…

Being competitive is awesome, wanting to win is natural, but attaching your self worth to the outcome is brutal.

And I know first hand that achievements don’t feel like they’re enough if you’re operating from a sense of lack or not-enough-ness internally.

It’s a funny thing, because you’d think that if you feel like you’re enough, you wouldn’t be driven to achieve. That’s what I used to think, anyway. But all that got me was a lot of achievements and even more anxiety. Nothing could fill the void.

What changed? I stopped attaching who I was to my outcomes. I stopped chasing something outside of me to make me feel better. And I learned how to use my mind to support my goals, not to tear me apart in their pursuit.

If this hits a nerve and you want to know how you can let go of perfectionism so you can celebrate your outcomes of stage (regardless of what they are), just DM the word OUTCOME and let’s have a chat.

Because you truly do deserve it!

Coming back here always makes me reflect a lot on the crazy twists and turns I’ve navigated over the last two years…

My broken foot being one of them.

Having to wait an extra year to be back in prep has made it feel even more exciting. There’s something about overcoming adversity, no matter what it is, that makes it all the more rewarding.

Judging at was so fun yesterday! Epic physiques and plenty of time to connect with fellow judges, coaches and athletes.

A conversation about managing emotions as an athlete stayed with me, because it’s exactly why I focus on hypno performance (basically aligning your subconscious with your goals).

For athletes well versed in the sport, there’s a gap between our emotions and our actions that’s necessary to perform at high levels throughout prep and on stage. It’s not that challenges don’t exist, but our relationship with them changes, as does our capacity to navigate them.

Regulating emotions and not allowing thought spirals to derail you is all part of the sport.

And that’s where hypno performance shines.

Curious if it can help you? Get in touch and let’s chat. It’s a complete game changer!

Ubud still has my heart… living here for June, but online sessions are available as usual. I’m always told I get a different type of glow here. I’m here for it 💫

I know so many bodybuilders (myself included) who face injuries and niggles. I’ve had to adapt my movements to suit my own complex injury history ever since starting the sport.

But I’m so grateful that this is a sport that accommodates our bodies’ needs as much as possible, and that we can continue to grow regardless. Otherwise, I’d likely have been out a long time ago 😂

Yes, patience is required when niggles show up, but it’s just another way bodybuilding invites us to navigate the mental side of the sport. Acceptance, adaption, and eyes fixed firmly on the goal 💪🏼

Sometimes the most challenging thing can be distilling what you actually do. I reckon I’ve finally nailed it, and it feels so true to me, it lights me up 🌟

The voice in our head can make the doubt feel so real.

Next week, my secret podcast drops where I unpack why this is the case and how to stop it running your prep…
