๐Ÿ”ฅ Queensโ€™ Games 2026 Allโ€‘Girls Junior Chess Tournament is officially wrapped!
We had an amazing day with 54 talented young female chess players from across Queensland. Players spanned from 4.5โ€‘yearโ€‘old beginners to experienced competitors who have represented Australia at the World Youth Chess Championships.
It was inspiring to watch every girl show great sportsmanship, focus and determination over 7 competitive rounds. This year brought historic outright winning results, brandโ€‘new custom crystal trophies & medals, plus the exciting grand prize draw for the GM Hou Yifan signed chessboard!
Big thanks to our title sponsor Linglong Tire Australia, partners Yan Real Estate & Brisbane Chinese Language School, International Arbiter David E, and all parents for your incredible support.
Full recap and complete official results are available on our blog๐Ÿ‘‡

๐ŸŽ‰ Over 50 girls have already registered for QUEENS' GAME โ€” and what a field it's becoming.

From our youngest player โ€” a four-and-a-half-year-old taking her very first steps on the chessboard โ€” to experienced WCMs holding FIDE titles, alongside some of Queensland's strongest junior chess girls (nine of them already rated above QJ 1000), this is a lineup that makes us proud. ๐Ÿ’›

At KING & QUEEN CHESS CLUB, we believe great things happen when like-minded people come together. This Sunday, we get to see exactly that: a room full of girls who love chess, playing, growing, and walking the journey further โ€” together.

Registration is still open โ€” https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf8lUt9SoG45QLvumSGlcD7cn-u-A8n2jmW6wvO9gUv7GoOPA/viewform.

See you on the board, little Queens! ๐Ÿ‘‘

โ™Ÿ๏ธ 242 Young Players. One Chessboard. One Amazing Day.
The Term 3 Linglong Cup Junior Chess Championship came to a successful conclusion on 16 August 2026 at MacGregor State High School!

Hosted by KING & QUEEN CHESS CLUB, under Queensland Chess School, and proudly sponsored by Linglong Tire Australia, the tournament brought together 242 young chess players from across Queensland.

Among the field were some of Queensland's strongest young players, including players holding FIDE titles such as IM, FM, CM and WCM.

๐Ÿ† AUD $1,570 in total prize money

The event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners:
โญ Linglong Tire Australia
โญ Brisbane Chinese School
โญ JRL Advance Solar
โญ Yan Real Estate
A huge thank you also goes to our professional arbiters, parent volunteers and every family who spent the day supporting their young chess players.

And, of course, thank you to all 242 players!

Beyond the trophies and medals, every child gained something valuable โ€” experience, confidence, resilience, strategic thinking and new friendships.

We were also delighted to introduce our upgraded crystal-style trophies and medals, which received wonderful feedback from both children and parents. We will continue improving the tournament experience at our future events.

At KING & QUEEN CHESS CLUB, we believe chess is about much more than winning.

While tournaments are an important part of what we do, systematic junior chess education remains at the heart of KING & QUEEN CHESS CLUB.

Our chess program is designed to support players across the full development pathway โ€” from children learning their very first moves to ambitious young players working towards elite competition.

Our programs include:

โ€ข Beginner and foundation chess training
โ€ข Intermediate and advanced coaching
โ€ข Competitive chess development
โ€ข Holiday chess camps
โ€ข Tournament preparation
โ€ข Ongoing practical game experience
โ€ข Professional coaching from our dedicated coaching team

Our aim is not simply to teach children how to play chess.

We want to help young people develop thinking skills, confidence, discipline, resilience and a lifelong love of learning through chess.

โ™Ÿ๏ธ The Linglong Cup is only the beginning.

Chess can be a powerful bridge between communities.

Through tournaments, young players can compete, make friends, experience different cultures and learn from one another โ€” all through the universal language of the chessboard.

At the same time, tournaments provide parents with an opportunity to meet, connect and share experiences as their children grow together.

We also warmly welcome more businesses and community organisations to join us as partners in future junior chess events.

Together, we can create more opportunities for Queensland's young chess players to compete, learn, connect and grow.

We look forward to bringing more professionally organised and FIDE-rated chess events to Brisbane and creating even more opportunities for young players to compete, connect and grow.

Congratulations to all our podium finishers โ€” and a huge round of applause for every player who gave their best! ๐Ÿ‘

See you at the next tournament!
