Su***de is a topic very close to my heart that I haven't talked publicly about in the past. It's hard.
Losing someone close to me when I was 21 years-old is probably a big reason why talking and learning about mental health is so important to me in the work I do with yoga.
As a 33-year-old, I've already had so many conversations with friends and others who've struggled with suicidal thoughts, depression or big bouts of mental health distress. It can be relentless and cruel.
There's no doubt in my mind that we all know someone who's struggling - whether we're aware of it or not. And many of us have lost someone we love.
I don't have so much of an agenda with this post today, but to share my experience in some small way, and hope that others who have lost someone to su***de or those who are struggling right now know they're not alone.
