Robin Dawson is on the most remote part of the course. He's pulled up at the campground. Feet up and hopefully enjoying the area.

Massive Notice: due to a incident in another event National trail is CLOSED. ( See image below). Follow the route to Sydney from Denman. Alt route 4. I'm absolutely gutted as this is a unique section that is only open to foot, horse and bike. Thank you to Tanya Bosch for giving me the heads up and I know she was very distressed about the previous incident and is working with NT and land holders to rectify for future NT access.

From a ride who did Terra last year. Just giving you a heads up.
I did the Terra Australis this year and one rider got into an altercation with the landowner at the end of the Glen Alice trail. The rider was stopped and asked to show evidence he was a trail member. He couldn't provide evidence. The discussion got heated and he rode off. He was chased down by the owner.
The property owner isn't a big fan of the trail and dislikes cyclists even more.
The section manager is trying to manage the situation. There might be a reroute in the future but at the moment I think everyone is at the landowners mercy.
If everyone is a member and the section manager is ok things should be OK but I think riders will still get approached by the owner. He has a camera at the front gate now so it's best not to go lifting bikes over the fence either

Due to this closure you will need to use ALT ROUTE 3: Gloucester to Moonan.
Other incidents: Barrington Tops Forest Road closures
The severe weather event in May 2025 has caused major damage to Barrington Tops Forest Road in a number of places, forcing MidCoast Council to close the road on the eastern side of Barrington Tops. There is currently no access to the Barrington Tops plateau, or Scone via the Barrington Tops Forest Rd from Gloucester.

The same weather event has also caused major damage on the western side of the plateau, forcing Upper Hunter Shire Council to place a 2.5T load limit on the section of road west of the Dingo Gate - see 2.5 tonne Load Limit in Place – Barrington Tops Forest Road - UHSC.

For more information on the councils closures please contact the appropriate council directly.

Just waiting on one section from Thora to Bowraville: this area has seen severe damage from storms and NPs are working on the roads. I should have confirmation this week. The ALT route takes you around to Ballingen then onto Bowraville. I drove this last week and its really nice
