📣 QPRU 2026 CHARITY PARTNER 📣
🌟 Jack Beasley Foundation 🌟
💙 The Queensland Police Rugby Union is proud to announce our partnership with the Jack Beasley Foundation.
🕊️ The Foundation was established by Brett and Belinda Beasley following the tragic loss of their son Jack in 2019. Since then, they have dedicated themselves to creating positive change by educating young people about the devastating consequences of knife crime and youth violence.
🎓 Through its powerful programs, the Foundation works alongside schools, communities, emergency services and young people to encourage safer choices and promote positive decision-making.
⚠️ The Foundation’s message is simple but powerful: one decision, one choice and one moment can change lives forever.
🏉 As an organisation built on service, leadership and community, the Queensland Police Rugby Union is honoured to partner with a charity that is making such a significant impact across Queensland.
💙 Together, we hope to help raise awareness, support important conversations and continue building safer communities for future generations.
👏 A huge thank you to Brett, Belinda and everyone involved with the Jack Beasley Foundation for the incredible work you do every day.

📣 QPRU SPONSOR 📣

🌟 Brownington Clinical Psychology 🌟

🧠 Brownington Clinical Psychology is led by Dr Matt Harrington, a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

👮 Before becoming a psychologist, Matt served as a Queensland Police Officer. His experience on the frontline provides a unique understanding of the pressures faced by first responders, emergency service personnel, veterans and their families.

💙 Mental health is something that impacts every team, every workplace and every family. As a representative rugby organisation, we understand the importance of supporting not only the physical wellbeing of our players, but their mental wellbeing too.

🏉 The Queensland Police Rugby Union and the Cassowaries are incredibly grateful for the support of Dr Matt Harrington and Brownington Clinical Psychology. Partnerships like this help strengthen our rugby community and reinforce the importance of looking after our people both on and off the field.

👏 A huge thank you to Matt for backing police rugby and continuing to serve the community through his work as a Clinical Psychologist.

The Queensland Police Rugby Union (QPRU) women’s team had a thrilling match against a combined British and Australian Signals Corps team, winning 37-10.

Here are the highlights Strong in QPRU’s solid defense played a crucial role in their success, allowing them to dominate the game.
The team’s slick backs and hard-running forwards worked together seamlessly, resulting in some impressive tries.

Standout Performance: Fullback .hills showcased her lightning speed, scoring four tries and leaving the opposition in her wake.

Player of the Match: Captain Latisha Whalan demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, coordinating the team at halfback despite playing through injury and cramp. Her determination and tactical awareness were instrumental in QPRU’s victory.

This match was part of the Royal Corps of Signals (UK) Rugby Tour to Australia, which features a three-game series. The tour aims to foster camaraderie and sportsmanship between teams from different countries and services. The next match in the series is scheduled for July 5, where the Royal Australian Corps of Signals Spartan Rugby Club will face the Royal Corps of Signals Rugby Club.

“Rugby has always felt like a parallel to policing for me, the teamwork, the grit, the trust in the person beside you. Today I hope you all felt that same sense of pride, love, and camaraderie that I feel when I wear my blue uniform. You represented the police family with heart and strength, and I’m beyond grateful.” - Captain and A/Sergeant Latisha Whalan
