You don’t lead through force. You lead through presence.

There’s this leader I’ll never forget.

She never spoke first in meetings.

In fact, she often waited until everyone else had said their piece.

If you second-guess yourself more often than you’d like to admit, read this slowly.

You’re not alone.

Many brilliant new leaders do the same:

🍃 They shrink back in meetings
🍃 They apologise before speaking
🍃 They water down their ideas to keep others comfortable
🍃 They let others take up space that was meant for them

And it’s not because they’re not capable.

It’s because they’re still waiting for permission. And that permission is never coming.

Let me break the uncomfortable truth:

👉 No one is going to give you space.
👉 No one is going to validate your voice before you use it.
👉 If you keep hesitating, someone with less talent and more audacity will take the opportunity instead.

Your job is not to earn your right to be there. Your job is to remember you already belong.

Some bold reminders to start today:

🌿 Stop apologising before you speak
🌿Share the full idea, not the diluted version
🌿Lead with “I believe / I recommend” , not “maybe we could…”
🌿If your voice shakes, let it, but make sure it’s heard
