Now that our Winternationals campaign is over, it’s time for us to get behind honorary Merchant Family Racing team member Steven Warren.

Steve has absolutely been on fire this weekend and has taken out the Top Qualifier, earning himself a place in the semi finals! 🔥🏁

He’ll be back on track around 4pm, so make sure you keep an eye on the live timing and send him all the good luck for the next round.

Unfortunately our Winternationals campaign came to an end in the first round of racing on Saturday morning.

We were matched up against Paul Craig and put a 10.56 dial-in on the car. Right from the burnout things started to go pear shaped, with the car trying to push through the brakes and not wanting to stay put.

Heading into stage and preparing for the 2 second wait on the handicap start, I was fighting the same issue again. This time once the boost hit 12psi the brakes simply couldn’t hold it anymore and the car left whether I was ready or not.

The result was a massive .330 red light and an instant end to our weekend.

It wasn’t all bad news though, with the car recording its best ever 1/8 mile speed at 105mph, so there’s definitely plenty of potential in the combo moving forward.

Huge thanks to everyone who offered support and encouragement throughout the event — including ProFile Autosports + Tuning, Monsta Torque, Real Street Drag Racers Australia, and everyone who sent messages from Perth, New Zealand and even Japan. The support definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Next up is a few more little tweaks and then we head to QDRC on the 4th of July. We’ll regroup and come back swinging. 👊

1st qualifying pass done for our Winternationals campaign.

Not a bad way to start the weekend. The car still has a small hiccup on the 4th gear shift, but it’s definitely clearing up better than the last outing.

We managed to knock out a few new PBs:
• 60 foot: 1.594
• 1/8 mile: 6.800
• 1/8 mph: 104.27
• 1/4 mile ET: 10.659

Pretty happy with that for the first qualifier.

Quick plug change now and we’ll head back out for our 2nd qualifier this afternoon.

IHRA AUSTRALIA | REAL STREET CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
IHRA Australia is proud to acknowledge the incredible growth and competitiveness of the REAL STREET category throughout the 2025–2026 Championship season. A total of 41 competitors took to the track this season, delivering some of the closest and most hard fought racing the class has ever seen.
With points capped at 300 heading into the 58th Winternationals, the Championship fight has never been tighter:
• David Sheehy – 300 pts
• Tony Rogers – 300 pts
• Dean Merchant – 277.5 pts
Two drivers enter the season finale on maximum points, with a third close enough to strike. It all comes down to the Winternationals — the ultimate pressure test to decide who has the nerve, consistency, and composure to claim the REAL STREET Championship.
IHRA Australia extends a sincere thank you to all 41 competitors who took part in this season’s series, and to every IHRA Member Track whose support and commitment continue to elevate this category.
Best of luck to all competitors taking on the season finals at the Winternationals. The stage is set — now it’s time to finish the fight.
