My mother died when I was 5 and I had a challenging upbringing. I have had many jobs, from jillaroo, to horses, to hospitality, to nursery worker, to cleaning houses to becoming a scientist. I have been homeless and had health issues. Having numerous dices with death from stupidity, being told I could die and not amount to anything spurred me to make something of my life. I became a knowledge seek
er. I have travelled to over 50 countries, mostly solo, immersing myself to experience the real world, embracing Indigenous cultures and their lessons. I have a degree in anthropology, an Honours degree in biological sciences (ecology), a graduate certificate in community development, and a PhD in conservation. I was a sole parent for 10 years while studying. I have volunteered in a game reserve in Africa, studied howler monkeys in Belize, did helicopter surveys for rock-wallabies and helped with whale studies. I love animals and currently compete successfully in dog sledding and dressage. I never stop learning to becoming more holistic, an environmental and community advocate with online courses and mentorship to improve my wellbeing and inspire me to help others. I am a firm believer in setting goals and taking action. I am committed.
